Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology won nine prizes—including
the gold and silver medals—in the 2017 National Exhibition Education Forum and the International Commodity Interpretation Simulation Competition.

The International Business Department of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology participated in the 2017 National Conference and Education Forum and the International Commodity Interpretation Simulation Competition, which was recently organized by Shih Chien University. Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology had 5 teams directed by Prof. Wei-Zhen Yang and Prof Mei-Chin Zhu of the International Business Department and Prof. Jia-Jun Lin of the Department of Communication and Visual Design: "Sangria," "Sangria," "Spin Hanger," "Open Your Field of Vision,” and "Jungle Angle Sunglasses for Kid-Expansion Your Vision." "Spin Hanger" won the first prize in Chinese Explanation Group and the second prize in Chinese interpretation. "Open the Field of Your Vision" own the second prize in Chinese Group; they also won 7 other prizes.

The team of the Department of International Business, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, entered the final with their winning entry—"Sangria"—the result of their cooperation with Zeelandia Campus Venture Company. The work has been awarded by the Ministry of Culture. The Chinese explanation of “Sangria” was by Shin-Ying Tsai, Rong-Rong Zhu, Jia-Rong Su, Shin-Yi Tsao; they won the Excellence Award in Chinese Group. In English Group, Wen-Chun Hou, Yong-Shin Ge, Li-Wen Wang, Yu-Shiang Guo won another Excellence Award. For individual performance, Yong-Shin Ge won his own Excellence Award in the English Group.

The Spin Hanger is a product that has been awarded by Ministry of Economic Affairs. The group is formed by Chuan-Shin Chao, You-Zhen Zhuang, Yan-Fang Wang, and Yi-Jing Chen. Their presentation was as vivid as a TV shopping show, and their marketing method was deeply favored by the judges. They won the first prize in Chinese Group. For individual performance, Chuan-Shin Chao won the second prize for his Chinese interpretation; Yan-Fang Wang won the third prize for her Chinese interpretation; You-Zhen Zhuang won the Excellence Award.

"Open the Field of Your Vision--Biaohua Children's Sunglasses" and "Jungle Angle Sunglasses for Kid--Expand Your vision" are closely related to Biaohua Industrial Co., Ltd., a company run by EMBA alumni. Biaohua children's sunglasses highlight a variety of authorized cartoon patterns, supported by cartoon characters play. In Chinese Group, Jia-Lin Gao, Shi-Chi Huang, De-Wei Lu, and Chao-Yu Liu won the second prize. In English Group, by De-Wei Lu, Shang-Hong Dong, Mei-Jia Fang, and Jia-Lin Gao won the Excellence Award.

In the global competition, the international trade exhibition is an important part of international marketing. The International Business Department of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has actively cultivated international trade exhibition talent in recent years. The department won program funding from the Ministry of Education for teaching excellence and talent cultivation and has been actively participating in exhibitions and competitions and having great performances. In order to prepare its students to for the exhibitions and competitions, the department continuously provides students with training on product development and exhibition business communication skills; it also asks students to participate in trade shows and work with the manufacturers for students to attain the learning process. The outstanding performance this time once again showed that the great results of the efforts that Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has put into cultivating international trade personnel.
