The team from the Department of Leisure, Recreation, and Tourism Management, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, directed by Prof. Hong-Yu Shih and Prof. Bi-Chung Tsai, won the first and second prizes in the 2017 Taijiang Cup Creative Trip Design Competition, organized by the Luer Community of the Annan District and directed by Taijiang National Park Service Center and Tainan City Government. "Live Wonderfully and Wander Leisurely” won first prize, and “FEELING the Joyce of Taijiang” won second prize in the competition. It was not easy.

The winning teams of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology launched their plan when the school started. They followed the travel design, tour guide, urban marketing, and many other courses; the members had to go to national parks and Luer community for their field exploration, invite experts to teach them how to guide a tour, and did a lot of classroom exercises and practice, group discussions, and mid-term reports. The Champion team and runners-up team even went to the national park and the community for several times, along with a number of visits to scenic spots to know the community culture, ecology, industry, and cuisine, all for the sake of enhancing the contents of their tour design. These traveling plans are the community's precious cultural assets. The students participating in the competition applied what they had learned and integrated the relevant knowledge of leisure management and marketing into the overall design of their tours.

All the activities were mainly for college students throughout the country, with more than 100 teams coming from 18 different colleges and universities all over the island. Moreover, there were also students from Paraguay, Costa Rica, Malaysia, Jiangsu and Zhejiang of China participating in it, making it not only a national competition but also an international one. Finally, "Live Wonderfully and Wander Leisurely” by Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology won first prize, while "FEELING the joy of Taijiang " won second prize. Deng-Jin Tsai, Project Manager of Luer Community said that these touring plans of a new generation showed different views of young people in different fields today; they told us the attractions and characteristics of the most recommended as they saw of Taijiang National Park and Luer Community through their creative ideas, helping the community promote the depth of the tour with a wider range of options and integrating the students' creativity into their plans. Their plans and designs belong to the community as part of its tour promotion. "Live Wonderfully and Wander Leisurely” by Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, which stood out in the hundreds of teams, included the traveling experience of Yu-Lin Jiang from Paraguaya. It made the organizers feel it their social responsibility to increase the future planning of tourism.
