Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology held the largest auto show in South Taiwan—the 29th Auto Show of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology—on the 2nd and 3rd of December for the purpose of greeting the 48th anniversary of STUST. Since 1989, more than 200 teachers and students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering have participated each year in the auto show. With the full support of Chairman Hsin-Hsiong Chang and Acting President Deng-Maw Lu, the auto show have lasted for 28 years. Over the Long-term management, the auto show has long established a professional image and reputation, not only deeply recognized by exhibitors, but also greatly welcome by people of central and southern Taiwan. In recent years, every session of the auto show has attracted nearly 100,000 people to visit the school. This year, the 29th year of the auto show, exhibitors were quite enthusiastic, and the number of stalls also amounted to as many as 500 and even more than that. All the products were dazzling, making visitors feel it an amazing trip.

This show was jointed organized by Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology and China Daily. Sponsors included First Automobile News, OPTION Modified Vehicle News, Taiwan Electric Vehicle Development Association, China Automotive Audio Development Association, Taiwan Automotive Electronics Association, and STUST Alumni Association. Supported by the organizers and co-organizers, the auto show was well organized by the auto group of the Department of Mechanic Engineering, run by all the teachers and students in cooperation with those from other departments. The focus of the activity was to pass on the accumulated knowledge and experience previously accumulated to the new generation by jointly planning the two-day activities through teamwork. Each year, different topics are introduced to make the visitors and their alumni feel fresh and interesting.

This year the auto show was mainly divided into eight major exhibition areas: Imported Cars Area, Domestic Cars Area, Motorcycle Area, Electric Cars Area, Audio Area, Automobile Instrument Area, Supercar Area, and Project achievements Exhibition Area—a display of the elaborate thematic works by teachers and students of the university. There were approximately 500 stalls, supported by more than 100 locomotives and related manufacturers that participated in the exhibition, showing their latest automobiles, locomotives, electric locomotives, equipment and tools, super sports car, and car audio. Almost all the locomotive-related industries gathered in the campus, offering all the possible categories to the visitors. It was indeed a great success. At the same time, various manufacturers took advantage of the idea that most consumers have new cars by the end of the year and have introduced multiple discounts, such as cash discount, gift delivery and store promotions, so all car owners would not miss this excellent purchasing opportunity.
