PhD student Mei-Yian Lin was awarded the Outstanding Award for her Inventions. She said that she came from Malaysia to Taiwan four years ago. She was fortunate enough to meet Prof. Yi-Qun Du, who gave her great space for her performance and paved the road for her to innovation and invention. Recalling the first time she entered the hemodialysis lab, she witnessed the process of cleansing a patient's kidney, her head appeared to have a electric shock, with ideas emerging within two weeks. With her continuous brainstorming, she had more than ten creative ideas. That was the beginning of the first patented invention. Subsequently, in response to clinical needs and through integration of motors and biomedical applications in practical research and development, she brought her invention patents towards commercial development, participating in a number of innovative and creative entrepreneurship and international invention competition and winning many affirmations. Through the interaction with clinicians, she deeply understood the importance of medical materials to doctors and patients. She held on to the belief that "improving the quality of patients' medical care and safeguarding the lives of patients" is the driving force behind their continuous innovation. She felt greatly honored to have received this award and affirmation.
