As a graduation project for 2017, the work "Small Daily Character" is co-directed by Assistant Professor Pei-Chi Su and Associate Professor Ding-Jun Tong of the Department of Visual Communication Design. Its creative concept is mainly drawn from daily life and redefined through calendar design. With the traditional chamfer, mottled feeling as the element, the characters were designed to have the beauty of the defect "small daily fonts." Based on the design of a unique "word definition" for each day, the characters convey the "temperature of writing," the "touch of printing," and the "memory of ink," which have been gradually forgotten by science and technology. In addition, the two works "Neko" and "Yao WISH," directed by Lecturer Zhao-Chi Huang and lecturer Chian-fan Liu, were also selected as excellent works for the Digital Animation Award.

In his speech, Deputy Minister Li-De Yao of the Ministry of Education first congratulated all the highly competitive works that stood out from the contestants. He pointed out that Taiwanese students often win prizes in their international competitions, and he hoped that this program could grow into a complete design network so that the design industry in Taiwan would have a greater impact, no longer limited to competitions and that it could be expanded to more industries, out of college and with international links. It is expected that Taiwan International Students Creative Design Competition will be renamed, like such international competitions as the German IF and Red Dot Design Award, becoming an impressing brand name.
