Cheers Magazine held the Top 20 University Performance Growth Evaluation Presentation and Award Ceremony at the Shuxiang Garden in Taipei on March 1. Cheers Magazine showed a dynamic response to changes in the performance of university education. It has conducted the Top 20 University Performance Growth Survey for four consecutive years. This year, 151 university presidents from all over the country were invited to participate in the evaluation, and they are invited to recommend universities (not including their own universities) that had shown the greatest growth or progress of school performance. Each of them can recommend three universities, based on "industry cooperation," "internationalization," and "innovative teaching," which were the three most important indicators for university presidents in assessing the performance of their schools. A total of 138 principal replies were received this year. Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology was not only listed for the fourth consecutive year, but also became the only award-winning private university of science and technology, following 3 National Science and Technology University: National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, National Taipei University of Technology, and the National Kaohsiung Science and Technology.

Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology continues to operate with the spirt of “getting from students and returning back to students.” It upholds the principles of “holistic education” and “first-rate university,” developing itself from Southern Taiwan Industrial Technology College, Southern Taiwan Industry. As Acting President Deng-Maw Lu pointed out, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has obtained for consecutive six years (101-106 years) a total subsidy of NT$ 522 million from the Ministry of Education for its "Model Development of Science and Technology." It has also obtained for consecutive 12 years (95-106 years) a total grant of NT$ 813.81 million from the Ministry of Education for running Teaching Excellence Project. This year, it was awarded by the Ministry of Education a grant of more than NT$ 170 million for the project of Higher Education Sprout Project, while it was also named by Cheers Magazine as the favorite private university of science and technology by industries. Whether it is industry-university cooperation or international personnel training and innovative teaching, STUST has had dazzling achievements. This is certainly the direction that STUST has followed. The award this time is a recognition from all walks of life of STUST, which also shows how fruitful its efforts are. Based on the "Teaching Excellence Project" and "Model University of Science and Technology Program", Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology will work hard to promote the "Higher Education Sprout Project" in the future and continue to show great fruits of our efforts in STUST students and alumni.

As Acting President Deng-Maw Lu of Southern Taiwan University Principal said, the honor today followed the fact that teachers and students at STUST have generally implemented the PDCA mechanism in teaching and researching and that the overall control and careful planning of the future have been fully development by the school's administrative team.
