The Ministry of Education recently announced that the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Incubation Headquarter, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, applied for has acquired the grant of the 2018 "Innovation and Entrepreneurship Foundation in College" Entrepreneurship Management and Action Learning Program. The Ministry of Education has approved a total of 1.3 million grants. Among the 11 universities that have received grants in the Entrepreneurship Management and Action Learning Programs, STUST was the only university of science and technology in the country; it is one of the seven universities that received grants for two different programs.

This program of the Ministry of Education aims to assist universities in cultivating talents with entrepreneurial and professional abilities. On the one hand, it hopes to strengthen the integration of universities and industries and nurture school units working on campus innovation and entrepreneurship curriculum planning; on the other, it expects to establish a link between universities and enterprises on a cooperation platform that can help them expand the research energy of universities, thereby setting up a student entrepreneurship simulation mechanism for the universities to strengthen its approach to substantive entrepreneurship learning.

Since the establishment of the pro-learning environment in 2009, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology has not only trained the "immediately available" talents, but also created great learning atmosphere of "creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship" in order to promote the opportunities for students' employment, along with competitions over 10 consecutive years. Such creative Education has been listed as the focus of school development. In 2017, STUST launched a series of entrepreneurial fundamental courses in the "Entrepreneurship Practicum Micro-Course Program." With all these resources, students can carry out their creative ideas, formulate creative product plans, and make proposals to turn paper plans into actual business operation. The entrepreneurial practice process was incorporated into higher education and cultivation plan for 2018, constructing a key implementation project for the innovation of entrepreneurial environment, so as to continuously deepen the entrepreneurial atmosphere of the campus.

Wan-Rong Chang, Director of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, said that, thanks to the grant for the program, creative education would be able to include an Entrepreneurship Class, Lion Cup Competition, Lion Creative Battle Camp, and the Ustart College Student Entrepreneurship Program. There would be a series of entrepreneurial education modules to provide students with an entrepreneurial atmosphere and continue to optimize their learning maps and blueprints for entrepreneurship education.
