In order to encourage students from technical colleges to participate in the production of creative projects, Minister of Education Jun-Rong Yeh recently visited the Alumni Association of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology to show his tribute to Zhi-Yang Wu, a student from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, South Taiwan University of Science and Technology, who won a gold medal in the 2018 INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF INVENTIONS GENEVA. The Minister encouraged him and affirm his outstanding performance at the international exhibition.

Zhi-Yang Wu is a student form the Automatic Control Group of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He won his gold medal and a Best-Invention Award in the 2018 INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF INVENTIONS GENEVA with his work "Anion Beauty." As his advisor Prof. Zhong-Chun Wu pointed out, the work employs high technology to decompose oxygen and water in the air into high concentrations of ozone and negative ions and then quickly implant ozone and negative ions into the skin, killing bacteria and increase cells and accelerating cell movement and metabolism. It has great commercial value.

Chih-Liang Chu, Dean of the College of Engineering, who has won many gold medals and platinum awards at the International Invention Exhibition, pointed out that the International Exhibition of Geneva in Geneva is one of the three major international invention exhibitions in the world, attracting many manufacturers and schools every year. According to the statistics of the 2018 INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF INVENTIONS GENEVA, nearly a thousand works from more than 40 countries participated in the exhibition competition.
