The Goodwill Ambassadors of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology have been formed for more than 10 years. After the primaries and finalists, the 12th Goodwill Ambassadors selection listed the final 17 members. The Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology Goodwill Ambassadors set "friendly and kind, talented and versatile" as their training objective to help students improve their horizons and enhance communication skills through various training and service processes. Being a goodwill ambassador not only helps one write a wonderful page for her college career, but also prepare her for her future career development.

When President Deng-Maw of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology delivered a speech, he quoted the Chairman of the Board of Directors by saying, "Learning better is not better than doing better; doing better is not better than being a good person." He hoped that students can learn to have correct attitude towards others from the service process of being a goodwill ambassador. Meanwhile, President Lu also acknowledge the hard work of being a goodwill ambassador. He could see that all the goodwill ambassadors have worked hard to provide their professional services in various activities, including international seminars, annual celebrations, auto exhibitions, ribbon cutting, and receptions of various government units from outside the school. All sectors have given them a highly positive evaluation.

The selection activity was divided into two stages. After the first stage of the profile review and interview, the students were arranged to participate in makeup, beauty, and manners training courses before the final selection. In the final selection, the students were judged by a group of teachers, community consultants, and former flight attendants. The selection included a stage show to demonstrate the degree of physical coordination, as well as self-introduction and quick wit to test their oral performances and adaptability.

After more than two hours of final selection, the judges selected 15 female students and 2 male students to serve as the 12th Goodwill Ambassadors. Vice President Ming-Tsai Lai and Director Yang-Zhi Wang of Academic Affairs Office presented the final ribbons to representatives Yu-Ting Chen and Yao-Shin Zheng. The classmates put on the ribbons, standing for the missions and responsibilities the elected ambassadors have to bear upon their shoulders.

Yu-Shin Tsai, an 11th Goodwill Ambassador responsible for planning this selection activity, said that being a goodwill ambassador not only enables her to win glory for the school, but also brings her a lot of new knowledge, broaden his knowledge through various activities, and strengthen his ability to cope with problems. She believed that in the future, she would be able to play a role in job hunting and in the workplace. She also encouraged younger students to make progress in the future, help the school create a positive image, and become a beautiful scenery on campus.
