The goal is to develop popular music based on the traits of Chinese culture. The courses that the department offers cover four areas of expertise required by the popular music industry, including creative shows, acting brokers, recording systems, stage lighting, and soundtracks. The department is well equipped with a number of professional spaces and professional equipment, including rehearsal rooms, group exercise rooms, individual practice rooms, studios, digital music classrooms, stage production studios. As for equipment, there are musical instruments, recording equipment, activity stages, and stage lighting, always ready for students to develop their professional ability and skills. All these are further bolstered by the resources of the pop music and film center of the Tainan Cultural and Creative Park, which offers students complete training in pop music industry by project training of concert performances and stage productions.

The Department has set up small class teaching according to the areas of expertise (singing, electric guitar, electric bass, keyboard, jazz drum, songwriting, composition, arranger, recording project, etc.). The department is committed to teaching students in accordance with their aptitude, enhancing their professional skills, laying the foundation for connecting the industry, outstanding performance, and the opportunity to introduce and perform on the same stage with famous teachers.

The practical experience and skills enable students to accumulate theoretical and practical experience while they are at school, and strengthen the skills and internship mechanism of music brokers so that students can connect to the job market and realize the scenario that “graduation is linked with employment!”
