Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology implemented the Taiwan Global Internship Program Plus by the Ministry of Education, which is to bolster talents to intern in Japan's top professional companies for three years. During the implementation period, a total of nine workshops were held, 301 trainees were trained, and 36 students were selected. The trainees went to the top professional companies in Japan and Thailand for internships, creating a myriad of fruitful results.

Participants in the program were selected 36 students from 24 public and private universities and colleges. These students, who came with different professional backgrounds, including engineering, designing, and humanities, were sent to six companies in Japan and one in Thailand for their internship. At present, 19 of the trainees have completed their internship and retained in the companies after graduation. At the same time, the trainees who completed the internship have also become the seed teachers of the program and have taken on the role of inheritance and guidance in planning social media, workshops, and various aspects, setting up standards for Taiwan Global Internship Program Plus.

Director of the program, Associate Professor Yu-Ming Chang of the Department of Creative Product Design, said that since the first year the program has established a specific direction: from training, cross-school selection, overseas internship, to experience sharing. As it focuses on cultivating students' abilities, the program attaches great importance to the implementation of the workshop and also establishes a very important and distinctive training period in the program.

The program workshops adopt a teamwork that enforces cross-school grouping to promote cross-school communication opportunities and establish a cross-school communication for students. The students have a deep understanding of the cross-school exchange experience generated by the cross-school grouping. During the training workshop, the senior experts of the company acted as lecturers. In order to cultivate future professionals, the companies mobilized more than 10 experts without any care about the limited hour pay. They taught students about their practical skills of the industry to cultivate many outstanding talents for the Taiwan game industry. The companies that participated in the program welcomed students to the company's internship. President Matsuda of TOYDEA, based in Tokyo's Akihabara, said: "Taiwanese students are excellent, and we are very happy to work with them!" President Hiroki of SummerTime STUDIO said: "It is our responsibility to work together to nurture young students in the Taiwan game industry. It is also a source of talent for our company's development."

President Deng-Maw Lu of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology further pointed out that this program confirms the idea of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology focusing on sharing resources. Through an open and fair selection mechanism, outstanding students who are interested in participating in the school will go international. Vice President Hong-De Chang pointed out how the program is different from others and how the university will help bolster students’ working capabilities.
