The 31st Automobile and Motorcycle Exhibition of Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology was held on November 30 and December 1, which has been passed down for three decades. Thanks to the full support of Dr. Hsin-Hsiong Chang, Second President and Chairman of the Board, and the affirmation of the current President Deng-Maw Lu. With the joint efforts of the vehicle group and other departments, the self-planning activity has been expanded into cooperation between teachers and students of the vehicle group and other students across departments, along with the students from the Xiamen University of Technology. The annual event has established a professional image and reputation in the hearts of exhibitors and the people in the central and southern parts of the country, winning significant supports and affirmations.

The automobile and motorcycle exhibition was sponsored by Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology, co-organized by China Daily, Taiwan Electric Vehicle Development Association, China Automobile Audio Development Association, and Tainan Automobile Repair Material Association. With the support of the organizer and co-organizers, teachers and students have been able to pass their accumulated knowledge and experience over the past, working together as a team to plan the two-day event. The theme of the show this year focused on electric and hybrid vehicles, bringing all the visitors a brand new experience.

In addition to exhibiting the latest models, many manufacturers also brought their gasoline and electric vehicles to participate in the ceremony. Special vehicle zones exhibited a limited number of 918 vehicles worldwide, which costs more than 40 million in total, including Porsche 918 Spyder, Honda's leading petrol and electric supercar—NSX, Jaguar's first mass-produced pure electric vehicle—I-Pace, and another great pure electric vehicle—Tesla model 3.

In order to expand the service to the public, the auto show this year was especially expanded into an auto and motorcycle show. To this end, the motorcycle exhibition area was added to make the show look “greener.” In the motorcycle exhibition area and heavy machinery exhibition area brought forth well-known manufacturers at home and abroad, showing light and heavy-duty locomotives of the latest styles.

Every year, the car show attracts nearly 100,000 people to visit the school. To ease the traffic, the university has to ask visitors to take as much public transportation as possible. Visitors can take the No. 21 bus by Tainan Railway Station to reach the university, which not only saves energy and reduces carbon, but also save their time looking for parking spaces. In addition, the Daqiao Railway Station is only 3 minutes away from the university, and there are shuttle buses that stop at the station. Considering the limited parking space, a large parking lot is also arranged outside the campus, and visitors are taken by shuttle buses to the campus. As for driving, visitors only need to drive to the school gate and follow the traffic instructions.

The Auto and Motor Show at Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology is held only once a year, and it is free to visit. Those who want to buy a car or are interested in cars by the end of the year are welcome to come to Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology to visit the show. Visitors don't have to pay a lot of time to choose from cars produced by various manufacturers. They can see a great variety of cars and related products at once. At a glance, visitors can easily find his or her favorite car. On-site exhibitors have launched a variety of time-limited discount programs, allowing visitors to buy vehicles or other products at the auto show, which are definitely cheaper than the market prices and are offered with more discounts. Various snack stalls are also arranged in the exhibition, which can satisfy everyone’s appetite after the visit. This year the car show activities were held for two days. The biggest prize this year was an electric bicycle worth more than NT$ 40,000 for the luckiest one to take home!
