The Grassroots Service Society and the Department of Child Care have always been of high quality at Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology. During the winter vacation of the 108 academic year, the Grassroots Service Society went to Yuantan Elementary School to set up the education priority area for garbage categorization and Internet addiction prevention. During the semester, they spared no effort even when holidays came. In Shintai Elementary School, they organized a camp to fight against drug abuse, melancholia, and bullying. They also ran a recreation camp in Dachiao Elementary School, leading the entertainment activities of primary and secondary schools. The Department of Child Care went to remote areas on a regular basis during school days. Yun-Wen Chen, Chair of the Grassroots Service Society, said that the selection this time was changed into an online one, due to the worldwide pandemic. Yet, by this opportunity, students were allowed sufficient time to deal with this new change. Digitalization has always been the part of her society that needs to be enhanced. During the preparation period, they tried various methods, asked the opinions of many teachers, and also worked on cooperation across schools to understand how other schools prepared this evaluation. The all-electronic evaluation achieved good results. After this evaluation, they have all learned from this precious lesson. She hopes that they can make more progress next year and understand how to allow the reviewers to understand our society.
