The Humanities and Arts Building of STUST was built in 1992 by Mr. Shiu-Chi Wu, former director of STUST, with a donation of 70 million. The original name of the hall was Niantz Hall, which was the location of the STUST Library at that time. The Humanities and Art Building is a building with 4 floors above ground and 1 floor underground. The internal planning of this building renovation comes with three areas on the first floor. The north area is the ancient machinery exhibition hall, the south area is the panoramic fusion system, and the central area has a small stage. It is also a multi-functional area that can be used as an area for briefings and exhibitions. The second floor is a classroom with general education characteristics, and the third floor is where the History Room of STUST is located. The history room will continue to be renovated later and will be combined with the Exhibition Room of Wen-Bing Shin’s Memorial Cultural Heritage. Together with the general education history teaching plan, the hall will help students better understand the history and spirit of STUST’s founding, and cultivate high-ethical students at STUST. The Jishian Hall on the fourth floor is a dynamic activity area, providing multiple functions such as club activities, general education, and achievement exhibitions. In addition, the basement of the building is divided into two areas. The north area is the reading area (open during the day), and the book pavilion with small doors leading to the outdoor garden provides an excellent reading environment for students. The south area is an activity area, which can be used as a venue for events in the evening.
