The STUST Automobile and Motorcycle Exhibition was initiated in 1978 by the current chairman Dr. Hsin-Hsiong Chang during his tenure as the president. After the vigorous promotion of the previous presidents and the current president Deng-Maw Lu, it has been passed down for 31 years and entered the 32nd year this year. There were hundreds of auto manufacturers, and the number of booths was as high as 500, attracting nearly 100,000 people to visit the university every year. This year, there were even more varieties than before. The visitors were expected to go home with more rewards, making the trip even more valuable.

The auto and motor show team was composed of more than 200 teachers and students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of STUST. After a long-term diligent arrangement, it has established a professional image and reputation, and has been highly recognized by exhibitors and the public. STUST President Deng-Maw Lu said that the auto and motor show has developed into a large scale. In the past, the university needed to invite manufacturers to set up their booths in the show. In recent years, automakers have showed great willingness to participate in the show. This is a very big affirmation for the university. As it has become larger and larger each year, it also shows the power of execution on the side of teachers and students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

A lottery was held on the two-day auto and motor show. The package of the prizes was quite rich, and all the visitors were invited to participate in it. In addition, as the policy of replacing old cars and motorcycles with new ones was about to expire, the government has been encouraging consumers to replace their old cars to reduce environmental pollution and achieve environmental sustainability. Cars can be reduced by up to NT$ 50,000 in excise tax, and taxes on motorcycles can be reduced up to NT$ 4,000. In response to the idea that most consumers would buy new cars and motorcycles by the end of the year, various manufacturers launched diversified preferential schemes, allowing people to buy cars, motorcycles, or other products at the show and enjoy more discounts. Visitors did not need to spend a lot of time comparing various manufacturers; all they had to do is come to STUST to visit the show and see all the automobiles, electric motorcycles, and related products altogether. Information about the auto and motor show could be found on its official website, newspapers, fan pages, and radio stations. The latest information was published on the fan page in real time to help the public grasp the breaking news.

During the pandemic prevention period, the public must maintain personal pandemic prevention measures in the exhibition hall. Outdoor social distance of 1 meter and indoor social distance of 1.5 meters were strongly required, while visitors should wear face masks and avoid themselves from touching their eyes, mouths, and noses to reduce the risk of infection. As all these pandemic prevention measures were strictly implemented, the public could participate in the auto and motor show without any worries.
