The 3rd STUST Innovation Battle Camp of the 109th academic year: entrepreneurship overturn x industrial budding and roots.    2021/1/19

STUST received a full subsidy from the Ministry of Education to implement the University and College Innovation and Entrepreneurship Rooting Plan in 2018 and 2019. It was the only university of science and technology that has received both types of subsidies for two consecutive years. In order to continue to deepen entrepreneurship education, the Ministry of Education relaunched the two-year College and College Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Program in 2020 and expanded the scale of the program. In addition to continuing to strengthen the original rooting program to promote projects, it also expanded the innovation and entrepreneurship. Seed teachers have been cultivated to improve the ecological environment of campus entrepreneurship. STUST has made another great achievement, with the highest subsidy amount of NT$2.2 million approved by the Ministry of Education.

According to Rui-Shing Chang, R&D Director of the Research Development and Industry-University Cooperation Office, in addition to continuing to conduct high-intensity innovation and entrepreneurship courses at STUST this year, students can take the opportunity to train at start-up companies to actually experience the early days of entrepreneurship. The difficulties encountered include the entrepreneurial process from entrepreneurial conception proposal, maker implementation, business model briefing, commercial operation, company establishment to company closure. In addition, the battle camp planned to cultivate seed teachers for innovation and entrepreneurship. In addition to arranging seed teacher training courses, teachers and student teams were also arranged to participate in the camp courses. With the common class time, teachers could improve their own teaching Knowledge, explore possible problems in teaching, have a deep understanding of innovation and entrepreneurship training methods, course design and interaction, knowing how to link industry information and other knowledge and understanding the problems that students faced in their team operations. Teachers could give guidance to students, bridge the gaps between the team and they, and shape the entrepreneurial education atmosphere of the entire university.

Deng-Maw Lu, President of STUST, said that STUST upholds a pragmatic campus culture and builds a three-creative learning atmosphere—creative, innovative, and entrepreneurial. In order to guide students' creative ideas toward industrial application development, assist in the commercialization of innovative R&D results, and spread campus R&D results, STUST is especially grateful to the Ministry of Education for the subsidy of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Program for Colleges and Universities. Through the assistance of the program, STUST will further deepen the campus entrepreneurship practice and micro-learning program, the STUST Cup three-creation competition, entrepreneurial practice and other pre-cultivation seed cultivation.
