While most of the award winners were candidates with outstanding social science research from national universities, such as National Taiwan University, National Chengchi University, National Taiwan Normal University, Tsinghua University, he was the only one from such a private university of science and technology as STUST. For the first time since the establishment of this award, this is the first time a doctoral student from a private university of science and technology has won the award.

Le Quang Anh went to Taiwan to study for a PhD degree from Vietnam in the 2018 academic year. His research focused on corporate governance, strategic management, technology management, and other related research topics. The topic of his award-winning dissertation is "Performance Feedback and Green Innovation: The Contingencies of Institutional Pressures." He tries to explore whether companies will adopt green innovation as part of the development of their strategic approach under the trend of environmentally friendly business; at the same time, he also attempts to understand whether related factors in the institutional environment have an impact or produce any interference. It is hoped that through this research everyone can have a clearer understanding of how companies will deploy limited R&D resources under the trend of pursuing a sustainable global environment.
Le Quang Anh said that for the award from the Ministry of Science and Technology, he owed a lot to his advisor—Prof. Zhen-Yu Li, who teaches in both the Doctoral Program of Business Administration and the Department of Engineering and Management under the College of Business and Management. He also gave his thanks to Taiwan government for its support and guidance for international students. He expects that the energy and results on research he had accumulated in Taiwan can be used as reference for international students who would come to study in Taiwan or at STUST in the future.
De-Guang Zhou, Dean of the College of Business and Management, further pointed out that Le Quang Anh’s award is also an important achievement for the shortly established Ph.D. program of Business Management that mainly recruits international students. The College of Business and Management will continue to work hard, maintaining the accreditation of AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) and attracting more outstanding international students to study at STUST. With the joint efforts of teachers and students, it is expected that in the near future, the STUST Ph.D. Program in Business Management will begin to grow more branches and leaves.
