The STUST Academy for Bosses’ Wives, commissioned by Tainan City Government, recently held a closing ceremony at the Library Information Building of STUST. In response to the government’s pandemic containment measures, the closing ceremony was moved to the International Conference Hall. Guests and trainees all picked appropriate seats to maintain social distancing. Invited guests included President Deng-Maw Lu, General Director Yi-Daw Li of Tainan Industrial and Commercial Development and Investment Association, Academic Vice President Ming-Tsai Lai, Chief Secretary Chi-Liang Chu; Dean De-Guang Chou of the College of Business and Management, Vice Dean Chong-Wen Hong; Chairman Pei-Yu Gao of Tainan Nantai Association of Bosses’ Wives, Chairman Hui-Zhuan Hou of Counseling Association. A lot of former presidents and guests were also invited. Affected by the pandemic, the closing ceremony was different from those previous ones with vigorous singing and dancing. It proceeded with a gentle manner, and the atmosphere was warm and full.

This year a total of 61 students graduated from STUST Academy of Bosses’ Wives. The course offer includes "Municipality Construction and Government Resource Sharing," "Mobile Payment Introduction and Application," "Campus Research and Production Resource Sharing," "Social Etiquette and Beauty," “Introduction to Confidence and Charm," "Introduction to Various Liquor Appreciation," "Tax Planning-Property Inheritance and Gifts," "Long-term Photo Resource Sharing," "Intensive Cooking-Chinese Cuisine," "Women's Medical Health Care," "Life Numbers-Digital Code," "Car Accidents and Common Civil Dispute Mediation," "Face and Interpersonal Management," "Chinese Herbal Medicine Health Application," "Emotional Management of Professional Women," and more than ten courses with practical themes. The students were all bosses who have been busy taking care of their families and careers, female business leaders, or high-level cadres. They seized the opportunity to return to school for further studies and expand their interpersonal relationships. The opportunity to meet elites from all walks of life is very rare.

In his speech, President Lu of the STUST pointed out that Taiwan’s economy is mainly composed of small and medium-sized enterprises, and the soul of a small and medium-sized enterprise is often the boss’s wife. A boss’s work often includes managing the family, leading employees, dispatching funds, socializing; she will personally join the most basic first-line work, which can be said to be all-inclusive. . Therefore, in the process of Taiwan's economic development, the boss’s wife has been definitely an important factor that cannot be ignored. Yet, in this era of knowledge-based economy, the boss’s wife also needs to continue to learn and grow, so that the company can continue to evolve and maintain competitiveness in a rapidly changing environment. President Lu said, STUST Academy for Bosses’ Wives is a very special and enthusiastic female growth group. STUST is very happy to connect with everyone, and it attaches great importance to this special promotion and education activity. It also reminds the students to remember once being at STUST. All the students are alumni of STUST, and it is hoped that the students, like sisters who have completed their studies, will be able to work in the workplace after enriching their inner knowledge, shining upon the family. STUST will always stand with everyone and be the backing of everyone's career development and growth.
