STUST held a celebration ceremony to celebrate its 52nd anniversary on December 11. President Tsai Ing-wen and Vice President Lai Ching-de particularly sent congratulatory messages to STUST. Chairman Hsin-Hsiong Chang and President Deng-Maw Lu of STUST joined the entire school faculty and students. They invited Representative Wen-Hui of Taiwan Historical Materials Foundation, President Ru-Shan Chang of Airli International Medical Group, General Manager Jian-Feng Huang, of Yoshimura Hotel, Chairman Jin-Fa Huang of the National Association of STUST Alumni Association, Deputy Director General Zong-Ming Chen of Tainan Industrial and Commercial Development and Investment Association, General Director Ming-Feng Liang of Tainan National Salvation Group, Director General Zhi-Ming Dong of the Municipal Youth League Committee, Dean Zhi-Ming Dong of Jianan University of Pharmacology, and other honorable guests. The celebration was also shared with teachers, students, and alumni at home and abroad through the simultaneous live broadcast.

In his speech, Chairman Hsin-Hsiong Chang expressed his gratitude to the distinguished guests. He also reviewed the history of STUST from the hardship of the establishment of the university to the flourishing development over the past 52 years and looked forward to the future. In his speech, Chairman Chang proposed the integrated application of 5G+AI, the advent of the electric vehicle era, the three-dimensional virtual world of Metaverse, university social responsibility and ethics teaching, and many other important development trends in the world. He asked teachers and students of STUST to grasp the world trend, carry out innovative research and development, and take sustainable development as the foundation of running a school. Every member of STUST should contribute to the country and society, strive to be a world-class institution of higher learning, and move towards the ambition of running a first-class university and teaching first-class students—the goal set by the founding fathers of the university.

In the celebration ceremony, President Ru-Shan Chang of Aierli Incorporate and Chairman Jian-Feng Huang of Mingting Development and Construction were named the 110-year outstanding alumni. Both are social talents, enthusiastic about public welfare and very concerned about the development of STUST. They donated a great amount of money to STUST as scholarships to help the disadvantaged. STUST also granted a lot of scholarships. "Wu Zun-xian Culture and Education Charity Foundation Scholarship and Bursary," "Wu Shiu-Chi Award," "Ms. Wu Li-Ling Scholarship," "Service Senior and Excellent Faculty," "Excellent Service Teacher Award," "Excellent Teaching Teacher," and other awards were granted and presented. The award ceremony was simple and grand, and the recipients feel greatly honored. In recent years, STUST has continued to win large-scale "implementation field" projects from the Ministry of Education, such as "Production Line Factory for Renewable Energy Converters and Applied Biotechnology," "AI Vision Inspection Practice and Smart Manufacturing Features," and "CNC Level B Certification Examination Center." Various technical fields can be recognized by the industry, such as semiconductors, green energy negative carbon emission, AI artificial intelligence, creative marketing, digital art, communication media, etc. STUST have won a number of domestic and foreign awards Competition awards, such as the 15 medals in the 110 National College Athletics Open, Excellent work awards in 2021AI+ New Talent Contest, German iF Best Design Award, German Red Dot Brand, and Communication Design Award. The development of teachers and students in its creative strength has been affirmed by the outside world.

In addition to thanking the distinguished guests in his speech, President Deng-Maw Lu of STUST listed the important construction and school performance of the STUST over the years, and explained the various educational and academic reforms and international deepening work that is currently being promoted. A more lively and diverse learning environment for teachers and students throughout the school has lay the foundation for future development. President Lu pointed out that due to the declining birth rate, cross-strait politics, and changes in the pandemic, the admissions of universities have been generally affected. However, with the concerted efforts of all members of the school, STUST still ranks the ninth largest in the country in terms of the number of students. In addition, President Lu gave a special introduction to STUST’s various constructions. More than 120 modern classrooms in the school have been fully opened. The greening of the central square and its surroundings for teachers and students to gather together. There are also performance venues for students and clubs, including the digital gallery on the first floor and the ancient machinery exhibition hall—a modern environment for teachers and students. Building N has also been rebuilt and completely furnished. The "Fifty Classrooms" and "Concert Hall" on the first floor of the ground show the characteristics of art, literature, and scholarship. In addition, in response to the concept of green energy, environmental protection, and waste reduction, the T-building resource recycling station has been rebuilt to improve the content of service learning. The station won the excellent award in the Tainan City Colleges and Universities' Environmental Protection Evaluation, as well as Tainan City Resources Care for the Earth Evaluation in the 110th Academic Year. In the face of various challenges in the future, STUST will continue to invest in innovative teaching resources and the campus environment, growing stronger to hit a new peak.
