The White Valentine’s Day originated from an informal festival in Japan. It falls on March 14 every year as a day for lovers to give back gifts to their lovers after the Valentine's Day. The day was first called "Candy Giving Day" before being renamed as the White Valentine’s Day since the year of 2000.

The STUST Residential Committee planned a series of activities for the White Valentine’s Day. Two weeks before White Day, the boarding students were invited to submit the images they created for the lighting event, from which students voted for the top three preferable ones. On the day, a lighting event was held, with patterns related to Valentine's Day displayed on “Lamp wall” of the 6th Dormitory to create a sense of happiness and sweetness. All the student residents could enjoy a happy White Valentine's Day on the playground with their beloved friends. STUST thereby wished all lovers to stay together forever. At the same time, the lamp wall was used also showcase a series of anti-drug propaganda patterns, advocating for a pure campus atmosphere and showing STUST’s determination to fight against drugs.

Deng-Maw Lu, President of STUST, said that STUST has been continuously encouraging students to participate in various clubs and sports activities, so that students can relieve their pressure in a timely manner, exercise their bodies, and create a good potential for their future development. Taking the campus IG check-in as the starting point, the activity offered students the opportunity to record their good lives at the university. The dormitory’s lamp wall has been used over the past years as the major background, supplemented by installation art. It sent forth the blessing that all the students would go smoothly with their love and living as well as the hope that the students would focus more on their studies after the joy and relief. Only when students are physically and mentally healthy can they perform better in their studies.
