STUST recently participated in the 2022 annual U-start Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program, organized by the Youth Development Agency of the Ministry of Education. Two entrepreneurial teams of STUST received grant for one million NTD for business plan. STUST has received the grant for three consecutive years. This year only three universities in the country won this honor. It is indeed not easy. The competition has taken its roots and successfully built the three creative learning atmosphere of "Creativity-Innovation-Entrepreneurship" in STUST.

The two STUST entrepreneurial teams that won the grant in the first phase of the 2022 U-start Innovation and Entrepreneurship Program are Tactile and Free Ark. The Tactile team was directed by Prof. Jin-bo Shih and formed by Feng-yi Yang, Yu-hao Liu, and Jose Antonio Choco. In order to provide educational resources for VIB (severely visually impaired and blind) in learning and functional training, "Tactile Learning Aid System Tactile" was designed, using AI machine learning, image processing, cloud computing, natural language processing and 3D reconstruction, and other emerging technologies to produce different types of tactile teaching materials. The output of the system can generate STL (3D printing file format) and other 3D printing files. Another winning team, Freedom Ark, was directed by Prof. Shi-jie Liao and formed by Shu-chun Wang, Meng-shuan Li, and Hong-ming Song, who designed a cross-platform game "Soul Organizer" with an insight into life. With the core of healing the heart and the method of sorting out, users are guided, through game development technology, to experience the plot in the story and re-examine the heart and objects link in between.
