The National Slow Softball Championship this time was held as scheduled despite the severe pandemic situation. The softball players of STUST were not afraid of the impact of the pandemic and used their spare time to stay in school for physical fitness and group training. Under the call of Director and Coach Rong-yu Su, senior alumni Yuan-nan Guo, Yong-zhao Long, Shi-ming Wang, and Kun-hong Lin were invited back to the school to serve as coaches to assist in training, showing the tacit understanding of unity, mutual assistance, and cooperation between the STUST softball team and alumni.

The members of the softball school team of STUST were all selected by the softball club. The players who have just joined the team still have little knowledge of the basic knowledge of softball rules, hitting skills or base running, and even join the team with the mentality of playing tickets. Under the guidance of senior alumni such as Yuan-nan Guo, they gradually practiced basic rules, movements and consolidation skills. The team members also established a tacit understanding of mutual assistance and cooperation and revolutionary feelings during the arduous training process, and achieved great results together.

Rong-yu Su, Director of the Physical Education Center of STUST, said that teachers and students of the school were very happy that the softball team won the runner-up after a gap of 12 years. At the same time, he also thanked the Softball Alumni Foundation for its sponsorship and support for the Southern Taiwan softball team on weekdays. He particularly thanked Deng-maw Lu, President of STUST, for his long-term support and dedication to sports activities. In addition to helping to improve the sports environment and related sports equipment, President Lu also made the school team students feel the school's support and training intentions, creating positive attitudes among them. It is hoped that the students of the school team, regardless of whether they win the prize or not, can accumulate experience and perseverance in the competition, have the spirit of sportsmanship, and taken in the concept of "sports for life."
