南The Institute of Finance and Law of STUST, the Tainan Lawyers Association, and the Tainan Branch of the Legal Aid Foundation jointly organized the Southern Taiwan Law Scholars’ Lectures," held in the Niantsi Hall on the 13th floor of the Library Information Building (Building E) at STUST. This session particularly invited Ming-shin Lin, Wan-ning Hsu, and Chi-ren Sheu from the Law Department of National Taiwan University, all of whom are outstanding professors from Tainan. They gave three special lectures and invited Chairman Chong-hao Lin of the Tainan Bar Association, Consultant Jin-bi Song, Chair Ya-ping Huang of the Tainan Branch of the Legal Aid Foundation, and Executive Secretary Ping-Chong Chuo.

in addition to expressing his gratitude to the guests, De-kuang Chou, Vice President of STUST, pointed out that the STUST Law Scholars’ Lectures were both practical and academic, which have entered its 11th year. STUST invites leaders from all walks of life to participate in the grand event, and it has also attracted increasing attention from the masses. This time, the lecture gathered outstanding legal experts who have great influence on the protection of people's rights and the rule of law, and it was hoped that the participating students could become a huge energy in the future.

The first lecture, "Constitutional Litigation and Temporary Protection of Rights,” analyzed relevant disputes in terms of the sources, frameworks, and purposes of the law system, as well as the evolution from the Conference of Justices to the Constitutional Court, which can be regarded as the largest public law system reform in my country in recent years. Prof. Ming-shin Lin conducted an in-depth analysis, bringing the audience a number of new concepts on system operation and future practical application in litigation,

In the first session in the afternoon, Prof. Wan-ning Hsu gave an online lecture on the topic "Current Situation and Prospects of the Labor Occupational Accident Insurance and Protection Law," reviewing the development from the past regulations on labor and occupational accidents to the new revision of the Disaster Insurance Law before analyzing the disputes over the past. In the second session in the afternoon, Prof. Chi-ren Hsueh gave a talk on "Constitutional Review of the Application of Criminal Law Interpretation" based on the principle of legality of crime and punishment, the principle of culpability, and the principle of proportionality, together with an analysis of the practical judgment from the constitutional point of view.
Prof. Cheng-zong Luo, Director of the law institute at STUST, said in his closing speech that due to the pandemic this year, STUST, as a co-organizer was even more prudent before in holding an actual meeting. Whether one is a lecturer or a guest, it was even more important for him or her to wear a facemask and observe the pandemic prevention regulations in the meeting. However, with the development of the pandemic, he hoped that in the next Law Scholar’s Lecture, everyone would be able to conduct discussions and debates on legal topics without any restrictions on this beautiful campus.
