STUST "Youth and Elderly Co-creation together to Build a Smart Elderly Friendly Community" USR project team, the Department of Social Welfare of Tainan City Government, Eden Social Welfare Foundation, Furoto Medical & Welfare, Fubon Life Insurance, and Shingyi Medical Products recently held a tripartite cooperation of industry, government and academia in the Kunsun community, "Come to Kunsun Together –Senior Smart Assistive Devices Course Achievement Exhibition and Industry-Government-Academia Joint Promotion Activity." Local residents were invited. It attracted about 150 community elders to participate in the grand event. In addition to introducing wheelchairs and crutches that can facilitate life, they also brought many assistive devices that can help health and increase the joy of life, ranging from kitchen counters to daily life. The contents were novel and rich and diverse, amazed the visiting community residents, and made them eager to give it a try.

The "Youth and Elderly Co-Creation "USR team of STUST showed the design results produced by teachers and students in the course of "Design of Aids to the Elderly" and various practical programs over the years. The students from the Department of Electronic Engineering and the Department of Electronic Engineering cooperated across domains to interview the life experiences of seniors in the community, and from them they came up with ideas for design and then obtained design feedback through the trial of the community elders. From the perspective of practical needs, students could actually experience the real and complete design process. In addition, according to the needs of the community, the project team also guided the students to design, develop, and continuously improve auxiliary equipment, such as tomato carts and silver newspapers.

The Eden Social Welfare Foundation offered an assistive vehicle, providing a variety of assistive device operation experience, free maintenance and evaluation services, etc. This year, the Eden Social Welfare Foundation cooperated with colleges and universities for the first time in the community to launch its assistive devices. "Convenience Station" service, combined with the practical capabilities of USR of STUST, extended its platform providing not only free repair, evaluation and maintenance services for assistive devices and a distribution platform for second-hand assistive devices, but also innovative service projects such as home repair, teaching and evaluation, improvement of distance services and in-place services, and an increase of benefits for the elderly and residents in need. Furoto invited the public to experience various home aids and promoted the importance of shaping the safety of the home environment. Shingyi Medical measured grip strength and performed health checks on blood pressure and blood oxygen for the elderly, and taught the public how to use of simple measurement products. Fubon Life guided the public to play cash flow, Noah's Ark, and other table games, promoting the importance of financial planning for all ages through fun games.
