The Social Responsibility Promotion Center of STUST recently held the 111th academic year {STUST Shield} USR × SDGs Student Community Expo, attracting more than 400 faculty and students to participate. The event was organized by 7 student organizations of USR program, with plans and implements they developed independently. Through exciting and interesting interactive games and introductions, the expo promoted social practice action plans and achievements on USR issues and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event sincerely invited students and graduates of STUST to participate in all the activities.

In recent years, the USR program of STUST has been actively connected with the so-called 108th syllabus, developing teaching plans and teaching aids based on SDG issues and using the university's professional energy to help cultivate the practical ability and creativity of teachers. Each USR project team has integrated the university majors through collaboration with primary and secondary schools in curriculum teaching, co-creating local cultural school-based curriculum and teaching aids and teaching plans, conducting interdisciplinary teacher training workshops, and organizing local caring and literacy-oriented summer camps. Knowledge, technology and resources are shared in different education stages of elementary, middle and high schools, promoting the application and diffusion of innovative knowledge, and driving local growth momentum.

The USR Student Community Expo of STUST has entered its third year. The publicity activities designed by the students have been able to link the professional expertise with local practice, with the goal of promoting the common good of the society. The "Zuozhen Local Creation" student community vividly introduces the Siraya culture in Zuozhen area through the teaching aid boxes and cultural and creative products produced in the course; interactively conveying the awareness of obstacles. Moreover, the "Sesame Writing Shrimp" student society promotes the English cross-domain curriculum plan and the sesame industry culture in Jiali District by implementing the "sesame oil chicken" English recipe booklet.

Students of "DIY Education Club" used alcohol ink to dye and paint, promote their own educational concepts and the achievements of teaching aids jointly developed by teachers and students over the years; and passed on the local industrial characteristics and cultural charm. Students of "General USR Course Group" introduced the Wujtiao Port Cultural Park through the board game "Guess Wutiao Port" and promoted the practical prerequisite courses of painted lanterns in the Year of the Rabbit. "Senior Elderly Boys" student society showed the participants all their picture cards of assistive devices, moisture-proof medicine boxes, and various non-slip objects, so that participants could learn how to help elders raise their awareness of medication and home safety.

Students from the USR society of STUST expressed that they were very happy to share their experience and achievements in social practice with teachers and students on the campus. The positive feedback and enthusiasm of the participants on the day greatly inspired the students, and they deeply realized that they can improve themselves through social practice, by which they were given a sense of achievement of professional ability. The also came to recognize the values and beliefs that the USR plan try to convey to people.

Deng-mao Lu, President of STUST, said that in the upcoming third phase (2023-2024) university social responsibility practicum plan of the Ministry of Education, STUST would expand its professional practicum and look forward to creating new outlook in green energy and culture, continue to make progress on social practice issues such as health promotion and sustainable environment, connect interdisciplinary majors and curriculum resources, cultivate influential future talents, and greatly impress people on its path to university social responsibility.
