Since the establishment of the Jintz Bamboo Creation Classroom in 2020, the "Local Creation and Dissemination of Cultural Heritage – Fucheng VS Yuejin" USR project of STUST, has revived the traditional bamboo bee cannon in salt water. In order to have this culture well develop in Yanshui, the team went ahead to offer a retro bamboo cannon stand assembly course in the local elementary school. This course was supported and affirmed by the principal of the local elementary school in the Yanshui area. The results of this year's work have gradually fermented, and it has been extended to Litougang Elementary School and Zhupu Elementary School. In addition to attending the school to assemble and teach the retro bamboo cannon stand, the team has continued to cooperate with Onshore Elementary School, Huanya Elementary School, and Renguang Elementary School, offering a creative course to promote the revitalization and utilization of bamboo cannon stands, present bamboo cannon stands in the form of umbrella stands and bookshelves, and practice the concept of sustainable green energy development.

STUST Yanshui team has exhibited Zhongshan Road Vintage Bamboo Cannon Stand Light Show during Yanshui beehive firecrackers festival for two consecutive years. This year, Wu Temple particularly brought the bamboo cannon stand made by the project team to the Lantern Festival Beehive Cannon event to show the efforts of the project team. It awakened the memory of the traditional bamboo beehive firecrackers among Yanshui people. The early gun mounts were made of bamboo materials in accordance with auspicious numbers, which also symbolized good luck and auspiciousness. Under the guidance of Wu Temple, Tainan Bamboo Association assisted in re-engraving the structure of the early gun mounts. In order to help local primary schools understand this traditional culture and craftsmanship, Tainan Bamboo Association reduced the scale of bamboo cannons especially for elementary school students. Before the assembly and production process, it is necessary to further understand the folk culture and traditional practices of the fort, and then through the design, use the cross-weaving and fixing method of two pieces of bamboo material. With one on top of the other, the bamboo cannon stand can be transformed into an umbrella framework of bamboo layers for the use of modern life. The bamboo braided framework made use of the original 6-layer structure and convert it into a layer-by-layer adjustable bookshelf, which can be flexibly changed according to the height of the book. The final outcome was given the structure and shape of the traditional gun mount, full of creativity in life, which extends the life of the beehive firecracker mount.

Deng-mao Lu, President of STUST, said that the Yanshui team of STUST held a series of bamboo art activities in the Jintz Bamboo Creation Classroom, inheriting the bamboo weaving craftsmanship, deeply rooting the public's impression of the Yanshui area as an important gathering place for the bamboo industry in the past and for bamboo industry as part of the local culture. Their efforts are worthy of praises. In addition, the team has also advanced to many elementary schools in the Yanshui area to conduct retro bamboo cannon stand assembly courses. From the two expansions in 2020, there are now six primary schools for the project, demonstrating the determination and effectiveness of the culture to take root. It is hoped that the Yanshui team of STUST will continue to carry forward the bamboo craftsmanship for local creation in the future, and implement the concept of industrial inheritance and cultural sustainability in the social practice of the university.
