The 26th TDK Cup National Colleges and Universities Creative Design and Production Competition was recently held at STUST, with the top four finals and award ceremony held on the 15th of October. President Deng-mao Lu of STUST led the school chief officers to welcome several distinguished guests, including Director Yu-hui Yang, of the Technical and Vocational Department of the Ministry of Education, Chairman Yu-ching Wu of the TDK Cultural and Educational Foundation, and Chairman Wei-chong Niu of Dongdian Chemical Co., Ltd. to attend the meeting. With the full support of Director Yu-hui Yang of the Ministry of Education and the TDK Culture and Education Foundation, the competition was very popular. The total prize money was increased to 1.33 million NTD, with a total of 49 teams of robots to compete, among which teams from general universities accounted for 40% and teams from univeristies of science and technology accounted for 60%.

This competition is the earliest and largest robot competition in Taiwan, which emphasizes the combination of creativity and practice. It has been held since 1986 and has entered the 26th year this year. It is the best stage for students to exchange and learn from each other, and it is also the most watched robot annual event in China.

【The OZA-TECH student team of STUST won the first place in the flight group competition of the 26th TDK Cup National College Creative Design and Production Competition. 】
Chen-sheng Hsu, Han-lin Yang and Zhen-wei Li from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of STUST won the gold medal in the remote control group. Students Chi-yan Chang, Yu-an Chen, Wei-han Tai, and Jia-wei Huang from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of STUST won the fourth place in the remote control group. Students from the Department of Electrical Engineering , STUST, including Shuan-shing Wu and Sheng-wei Peng , Kai-senChen, and Cheng-dian Chan won the gold medal in the flight group. Students from the Department of Engineering , STUST, including Yu-shian Chu, Bai-yan Tseng, and Wei-zhi Wu, won the third place in the flight group. Students from the Department of Electrical Engineering, STUST, inl=cluding Jun-yao Chao, Yan-hong Lai, Shin-wei Lin, and Yong-han Chen, won the third place of the automatic group. Students Wei-yang Nian, Zheng-jie Wu, Shin-you Su, and Meng-shiu Wu from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, STUST, won the fourth place in the automatic group. The top four in each group received bonuses ranging from 200,000 NTD, and the champion teams were given the opportunity to observe the robot competition at NHK Robocon in Japan. It is hoped that the winning students will continue to develop in the field of robotics.

Deng-mao Lu, President of STUST, said that although this competition is just an interesting robot competition, the underlying technology is the key technology to solve many industrial problems. The participating teams must have solid practical skill training, implement them in the special production, and train students to have problem-solving skills. Through teamwork, the students who won the award will implement their creative ideas and technologies into their works, and the instructors will provide professional guidance during the development of students' works, so that students can acquire technologies for various majors and industrial applications.
