The 2022 International Art and Culture Festival" of STUST made its grand debut a few days ago. There were food stalls from all over the world, with a great variety of drinks. More than 200 international students from 33 countries, including Poland, Mongolia, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Tanzania, participated in the event, showing a great lively sight.

The event was kicked off by STUST’s idol group, NTS x ONE. From singing skills to dance training, the group was carefully developed by the Department of Pop Music Industry, STUST, from last year's brainwashing melody ⟪Summer Sugar⟫ to the release of the second single “Gravity” this year. International students then participated in stage performance competitions, including Indian folk dances, Tanzanian easy dance “Jerusalema,” Philippian traditional and famous dances from multilingual provinces. While Vietnamese modern dances showed the daily life of Vietnamese people, Indonesian dances tell the story of the difficult process of building Borobudur Temple under the order of the king. All of them won great applauses from the guests in the event. In this competition, students from the Philippines won the first place, Vietnam students won the second place, Indonesian students won the third place, and students from India and Tanzania also won prizes with their excellent performances.

There were 8 exotic booths at the International Art and Culture Festival, brought by students from Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Denmark, India, Indonesia, Thailand, and Tanzania. As international students decorated their booth with different cultural aspects of their own, both local students and international students were given more opportunities for cultural exchanges. With the integration of multiple cultures, whether it is cultural experience or foreign cultural performances, the students participating in the activities said could enjoy foreign folk customs and performances without going abroad; they could even taste the authentic flavors and exotic cuisines from various countries. All these great memories were added to their university lives at STUST.

Deng-maw Lu, President of STUST, said that the university has been work hard to recruits international students. Through the International Art and Culture Festival, Taiwanese students and international students can further understand and communicate with each other, promoting mutual cultural recognition from the rich, joyful exotic activities, learning to respect each other, and thereby expanding each other's international and global perspectives and demonstrating STUST's intention and vitality in promoting international culture.
