In order to encourage the operation and development of student associations and strengthen student self-government and leadership skills, STUST recently held the 111th Academic Year Student Association Selection and "Restart" Inheritance and Handover Awards Ceremony in the Sanlian Hall of STUST. Vice President Chi-hong Lin delivered a speech to encourage all the student leaders, while STUST Alumni Association Chairman Jin-fa Huang delivered a speech to encourage students to participate in activities of departmental student societies. The ceremony saw its climax as the Service Chongde Youth Club was awarded, becoming the best student club of the year. This activity was meant to help student clubs to communicate with each other and offer a good example and foundation for club activities.

The event was sponsored by the Office of Extracurricular Activities of STUST, organized by the 23rd Administrative Center of the Student Union, and co-organized by associations such as Blazing Fire Dance Club, Goodwill Service Club, Magic Club, Photography Club, Leisure Department Society, and Yingying Department Society. The Office of Extracurricular Activities conducts evaluation activities to encourage student club activities, improve student club organization functions, evaluate the performance of each club, select outstanding ones from an assortment of student clubs, and bring the educational function of club activities to a remarkable extent.

The evaluation included two stages: initial evaluation and re-evaluation. The initial evaluation was performed by five teachers, including Zi-Ching Huang from the Office of Extracurricular Activities, together with five outstanding club leaders, including Shi-yuan Liu from the Chongde Youth Club. The re-evaluation was held in the afternoon of the ceremony, and five external reviewers were invited to conduct the entity review, including the Dean Shi-wang Wu of the Academic Affairs Office.

In the afternoon, the evaluation was held at the same time as the exchange and study of club leaders. Outstanding graduates were invited to return to school to share with their juniors and have a question-and-answer discussion. Guan-yu Li, who is in charge of Awakening Home, and Shiu-tsi Lu, who in charge of Moyu Aesthetics, came to talk with the leaders of the student associations, encouraging students to participate in more activities and enrich their own experience.

Before the start of the gala ceremony, various associations held a red carpet avenue walk. Many outstanding association members dressed up to watch the ceremony and wait for the awards. The opening ceremony was jointly performed by the Thunder Drum Club and the Martial Arts Club. The music club, the popular dance club, and the blazing fire dance club took turns to perform on stage, adding heat to the of the awards ceremony.

The moderators was Tsai-ning Chen, Chair of STUST Goodwill Service Association, and Chi-shian Lin, Chair of the Student Association, the Department of Applied English. In both Chinese and English, the ceremony showed the importance of international students and the language proficiency of the students of the Department of Applied English. Goodwill ambassadors have devoted themselves to hosting the ceremony in recent years. In many school occasions, there have been appearances hosted by the masters of ceremonies in addition to the reception of goodwill ambassadors and award concierges. This year the awards included cleanliness scores for club offices, the best club special activities, Golden Group Awards, Golden Suction Awards, Golden Point Awards, Excellence Awards, and Special Excellence Awards. This year Chongde Youth Club won the Special Excellence Award.
President Deng-maw Lu of STUST said that STUST has always encouraged students to participate in various club activities, so that students can relieve their academic pressure in a timely manner and lay a good future development potential. After being happy and relieved of their stress, students can focus on your studies and perform better in class.
