STUST has made every effort to raise the student aid fund for economically disadvantaged students to help them study with peace of mind, fulfilling its social responsibilities. Fundraising activities, such as alumni associations and fundraising dinners for disadvantaged students, have raised nearly 30 million NTD in total over the past five years. Together with the grants from the Ministry of Education, the amount has reached more than 130 million NTD. The student aid has achieved remarkable results and has been recognized by the Ministry of Education for many times.

All the funds raised by STUST are announced on the school website in accordance with the regulations, and all of them are used for the academic counseling of economically disadvantaged students. So far, more than 36,000 economically disadvantaged students have benefited from the funds. The benefits include training of English listening, speaking, reading and writing, Chinese reading and expression, practical project production, studying abroad, career counseling, various scholarships, and other most urgently needed projects to maximize benefits for students.

With the help of this donation, the students also actively to give back to the kindness of all walks of life. They lived up to people’s expectations and won many domestic and International competition awards. For example, students from the Department of Hospitality Management who received certificate scholarship and subsidies for practice material, won the 45th The Bronze Medal Award of Dim Sum Production in the International Skills Competition, bringing back glory for both the country and the school; the graduation work "Building a Trail into the Mountain" of the students from the Department of Visual Communication Design won the Best Design Award of the Golden Pin Rookie Design Award, which is the highest honor in this category. Through the school's assistance mechanism underprivileged students, a lot of students have been able to show great performance in various fields and march towards their dreams in life.

President Deng-maw Lu of STUST said that education is a century-old project and a cause of conscience. STUST has always adhered to the spirit of selfless dedication and implemented the concept of "student being the center" in running the school, so that students can obtain more abundant learning resources.
