STUST’s Jasmine Workshop held "Fucheng Fantasy" 5G MR Mixed Reality Creation Exhibition in Tainan Cultural and Creative Park from March 14 to 31, recreating a variety of Tainan's historical scenes. On March 16, it invited the chief of the Department of Cultural Bureau, Tainan City Government, the Director of Taiwan Shibo Digital Center, General Manager Tsun-gyan of Innolux Media Co., Ltd. and many other distinguished guests to attend the meeting. There were six independent booths in this creation exhibition (including Zelanja City, Public Scale Office, Jieguan Pavilion and Fengshen Temple , Nanhe Port and Shophouses, Contract Hall, and Suehiro-cho Commercial Street) exhibiting the complete scenes of the three eras at the W506-Fucheng Mirage Exhibition Hall of STUST campus from March 20 to June 2. The exhibition is divided into three areas: A Dreaming Passage to Zelanza, Roaming Gojo Port, and Returning to Suehiro-cho. The type of exhibition will be mainly group visits. The on-campus part will combine various general education courses with student civic education to strengthen students' humanistic and social care, while the off-campus part will combine tertiary institutions to implement primary and secondary school projects, supported by the work of USR promotion team. People from all walks of life are welcome to come and experience the unique historical background of Tainan Fucheng during the exhibition period.

Tainan carries the rich history and culture of Taiwan, but now we can only outline the splendor it once had from the fragments, due to deliberate or unintentional neglect and destruction in history. In view of the fact that 2024 will be the 400th anniversary of the founding of Tainan City, which is an important milestone in Taiwan's history and cultural development, the Department of Multimedia and Computer Entertainment, STUST, has made great effort since the November of 2011 to show the charm of Taiwanese culture in its endeavor to implement the "Fucheng Fantasy" 5G MR Mixed Reality Creation and Participatory Creative Talent Training Program, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, by recreating Tainan's Historical Scenes" "Fucheng Fantasy" is an art creation project with flagship technology after "Phantom Wall at the North Gate" and "Phantom Banquet in Fucheng." "Fucheng Fantasy" is inspired by "Along the Bian River during Chingming Festival," which shows the real life of the common people in Song Dynasty. It further uses emerging such technologies as 5G and Mixed Reality to reproduce the life and cultural splendor of the common people in various historical eras in Tainan. In addition to technological and artistic creation, the concept of "living artwork" is also introduced, combined with the talent cultivation project to continuously attract new talent to participate in the creation. The "Fucheng Fantasy" is constantly updated and changing, telling the story of Taiwan with great vitality.

Chair Zhi-cheng Sun of the Department of Multimedia and Computer Entertainment, who hosts the project, said that the project first set the appearance and configuration of the streets, buildings, people, objects, and events in scenes of different eras through historical research and display planning, and then made a detailed analysis of the scenes, streets and buildings (A total of 315 buildings) for 3D modeling, printing, assembly and painting of pocket models, as well as visual design and 3D modeling of 700 personas and 214 events with various textures and frameworks, along with the production of dynamic and mobile routes and the integration of real and virtual scenes through the MR mixed reality system. In the exhibition venue with 5G environment, the audience can use the tablet computer to direct their eyes to the physical model, and hundreds of virtual characters of various eras can be animated in front of their eyes, shuttling in the physical pocket scenes to recreate the old Fucheng of Tainan City as reflected by the rich life and historical splendor of each era. In addition, in terms of talent cultivation, the possibility of using 5G MR mixed reality in the future art creation field will greatly increase to meet the demand of a large number of creative talents. This project adopts the concept of "open talent cultivation" to establish a training mechanism of online teaching, ability certification, and co-creation and sharing. By guiding students to participate in the creative process of “Fucheng Fantasy,” a large number of creative talents for 5G MR mixed reality will be trained. The training types include historical event writing, 3D role making, and MR system development. STSUT's multimedia technology and history teacher training teams are responsible for compiling and publishing online teaching materials and implementing various types of creative ability verification for students. Once the students pass the ability verification, they can participate in the creation of "Fucheng Fantasy" and become one of the creators.

President Cheng-wen Wu of STUST said that the plan has been working with the Ministry of Culture to promote the cross-domain application of 5G technology in museums and arts. The lives of the common people in the corners of time and space in Fucheng, together with the gradually forgotten historical memories, are being recreated before the eyes of the people, instead of relying on one-sided information such as abstract text, static images, and flat images when they have to imagine the past and reproduce the great voyage. The most representative historical scenes— such as the prosperous Zeelandia (Dayuan) port city in the era, the Wujo port and its river transport trade flourished in the Qing Dynasty, and the progressive and prosperous Suehiro town during the Japanese occupation period—have become a glimpse of the rich and common people in each historical era of the prefecture. The cultural showcase of life has great significance for scientific and technological creation, cultural promotion, and local education.
