With the efforts of President Cheng-wen Wu, STUST became the first strong partner of the "Wistron-Yangming Jiaotong University Smart and Green Energy Industry Innovation Joint R&D Center" of the Tainan Campus of Yangming Jiaotong University. Cheng-wen Wu believes that top universities focus on analysis and design, while STUST can start from the practical ability, because the details of engineering cannot be understood without practical operations. As he pointed out, the talents that the forward-looking electronics industry needs cover technical bachelors, industrial masters, and engineering PhDs, all of whom need practical training. Therefore, building the linkage among STUST, Yangming Jiaotong University, and the global layout of Wistron Infotech can faciliate the establishment of a new form of industry-university co-creation talent cultivation model and benefit both the students of the two universities and the industry. Yangming Jiaotong University and Wistron will hold a summit forum on "Smart Manufacturing of New Generation Electronic Products" on June 14, announcing the establishment of the "Wistron-Yangming Jiaotong University Smart and Green Energy Industry Innovation Joint R&D Center" and the wisdom and green The co-creation and talent cultivation cooperation platform of energy-industry-academic research and development will invite scholars from top universities at home and abroad and advanced R&D and manufacturing leaders from the industry to participate in the summit forum, including more than a dozen of professors from STUST.

Cheng-wen Wu said that, in conjunction with this cooperation, STUST will establish a "Smart Manufacturing Interdisciplinary Skills Excellence Program" in the 112th academic year, and will cooperate with Wistron Infotech to apply to the Ministry of Education to set up a "AIoT Smart Manufacturing Industry Master Class," use Wistron’s smart manufacturing production line to cultivate students’ integration and practical skills, and outstanding technical and excellent bachelors will also have the opportunity to give priority to admission to the master’s class or the second bachelor’s class of Yangming Jiaotong University. In the future, STUST also plans to set up a special class for industrial PhD students, directly matched with the practical research of industry. Students who enter the "Intelligent Manufacturing Interdisciplinary Technology Excellence Program" and the future "AIoT Smart Manufacturing Industry Master Class" will not only be able to obtain generous scholarships and valuable internship opportunities in production lines during the schooling period, but also give priorities to be employed by Wistron to those who perform well after graduation

Yu-hui Yang, Director of the Department of Technical and Vocation Education, the Ministry of Education, will be invited to participate in the "Smart Manufacturing of New Generation Electronic Products" summit forum. She believes that under the cooperation framework of STUST - Yangming Jiaotong University - Wistron Information Technology, a forward-looking smart manufacturing production line with an annual investment of more than 100 million NTD will be established on the Yangming Jiaotong University campus in Shalun, and it will be connected to the teaching production line already established by STUST. The Ministry of Education is very supportive of this kind of production line equipment to play a greater role. STUST can cooperate with top universities to provide Wistron, a world-class electronics manufacturer, with a more complete talent training mechanism to meet its talent needs. It will not only help Taiwan's high-quality manufacturers to maintain sustainable operations, but also offer a pioneering work for higher education, which deserves encouragement. At this time, when the students participating in this year's four-technical and two-technical joint admissions program decide on their future study choice and school, President Cheng-wen Wu said that in response to future industrial development and talent needs, academic theory and industrial demand will become an important direction for future talent cultivation in terms of linking universities of science and technology, research universities and global layout industries, and solving practical problems at the same time. He hopes that outstanding high school vocational students who are interested in this field seize this rare opportunity and participate in this tripartite cooperation between STUST-Yangming Jiaotong University-Wistron Information Technology after entering the school. As long as students choose to study in the departments of electronics, electrical machinery, machinery, engineering and optoelectronics at STUST, they can break through themselves and realize their ideals based on the existing foundation provided by STUST.
