Department of International Business, STUST, in cooperation with "Osmanthus Alley Sour Plum Soup" in Lukang, Changhua, formed the team "STUST Yanpai" and recently represented Taiwan to participate in the 2023 Global Brand Planning Competition Finals, hosted by the Global Chinese Merchant Marketing Federation (GCMF) and Marketing Institute of Singapore (MIS). The global finals were divided into two stages of evaluation. In the first stage, the top four teams were selected from more than 30 teams from all over the world. STUST stood out from the teams from different countries and won the championship.

"STUST Yanpai" team was jointly directed by Prof. Wei-zhen Yang from the Department of International Business, STUST, and Prof. Jia-jun Lin from the Department of Visual Communication Design. Wen Huang from the Master Program of Global Business Management, together with Yu-wen Hsu, Ting-yu Ren, Zi-yi Tang, and Kai-wen Mo from the Department of International Business, worked on a series of brand marketing plans for "Osmanthus Lane Sour Plum Soup" in Lukang, Changhua. The "STUST Yanpai" team analyzed the market feasibility of "Osmanthus Alley Sour Plum Soup" and planned a marketing plan for five experiences. Through the new design packaging of "Osmanthus Alley Sour Plum Soup" that connects the town culture and incorporates local cultural elements in Lukang, it was expected to leave consumers with the impression of "Osmanthus Alley Sour Plum Soup, Lukang's No. 1 Drink."

The team, jointly guided by Associate Professor Wei-zhen Yang of the Department of International Business and Associate Professor Jia-jun Lin of the Department of Visual Communication Design, STUST, has represented Taiwan in the Singapore Finals for six consecutive times and has achieved good results in the Global Brand Planning Competition every year. Wen Huang, a member of the team, said that after a year of planning, communication, and implementation, he was finally able to show the results of the year on the stage of international competitions, compete and learn from elite teams from various countries, and win the championship. Thanks to the teacher's careful guidance, the student team learned more about planning methods and marketing knowledge through writing business proposals and briefing questions and answers. At the same time, the revolutionary emotion with the team was the most valuable and greatest asset in their college years.

In the finals in Singapore this time, it won the global championship honor for the fourth time. By planning various brand marketing modules of "Osmanthus Alley Sour Plum Soup," it once again demonstrated the practical learning process of the Department of International Business, STUST, and the effectiveness of "learning by doing."
