During the period of Wutiaogang Port in the Ching Dynasty, Beishi Port (Nanshi Port) between Shennong Street and Minchuan Road mainly transported Chinese herbal medicines. In addition to the Yaowang Temple at the bottom of the street, there are more than ten Chinese medicine shops on Minchuan Road, which is the cultural imprint left by the suburban merchants in the Ching Dynasty. As the dengue fever epidemic is soaring this summer, the planning team of STUST worked in cooperation with Chunshing Medicine Store on Minchuan Road. In response to the resurgence of dengue fever this summer, it is currently in a state of tension. Compared with chemical anti-mosquito sprays, it is better to return to the old sachet philosophy of the ancestors, so this lecture on making mosquito repellent bags was held. Generally, there are eight kinds of medicinal materials in traditional Chinese medicine anti-mosquito packs on the market, including mugwort leaf, mint, perilla, honeysuckle, clove, ageratum, angelica dahurica, and calamus. The natural anti-repellent citronella can make the anti-mosquito bag not only antibacterial and calming, it but also enhances the effect of mosquito repellent. Therefore, the anti-mosquito bag will lose its fragrance after a long time, and alcohol can also be used to make anti-mosquito liquid that can be carried anytime.

President Cheng-wen Wu of STUST said that the cultural heritage USR project team has deeply cultivated the field of Shennong Street. In addition to cultivating local artisans to share experience and increase exposure, it will lead the public to solve the problem of dengue fever this summer through the past medicinal culture of Shennong Street.
