As can be seen from the school song of STUST, the university was established on the basis on the founding philosophy of "Educating Talents," "Benefiting the Society and Building the Country," as well as "Putting Equal Stress on the Academic and the Technical. In recent years, STUST has been working on software and hardware innovation, creating a talent cultivation base that allows each student's expertise to be adaptively developed, and implementing educational resources on each student, so that students' abilities, willingness to learn, and professional knowledge can fully meet expectations. STUTS will continue to strengthen students' capabilities of research and development, innovation, and international mobility, developing their talents after taking office to help them produce a long-term effect on the country's social, economic development, and personal achievements.

Cheng-wen Wu, President of STUST, said that through long-term cooperation with the Retirement Association, high-quality retired officers and soldiers can be improved and quickly integrated into society to become a solid foundation for national productivity. Looking forward to the future, STUST can create more high value based on the concept of co-creation. In addition, the school also plans, in cooperation with Wistron Information Communications in the future, to set up a special class for Wistron Information Communications, which will help veterans become excellent management talents. As the program will help veterans acquire a master’s degree and better educational background, they can be tutored to enter Wistron as an engineer. The non-commissioned officer post-baccalaureate class can assist veteran non-commissioned officers to enter the company after 2 years of graduation. There will be more special class for non-commissioned officers and soldiers to obtain training qualifications and enter relevant companies as technical personnel. This is to follow and implement the school’s goal—"Enrollment means employment, and graduation leads to promotion." Veterans and the industry will thereby achieve a win-win situation in cultivating talents. STUST looks forward to closer cooperation between the Tainan City Honor Service Office and STUST, so that retired officers and soldiers can acquire a skill and have a good education and that enterprises can also obtain good talents and achieve the goal of creating a win-win situation.
