The purpose of this cultural tour was to allow students to not only appreciate the beautiful scenery of Taiwan and taste authentic Taiwanese food, but also understand the unique culture of Taiwan's Sino-Japanese blend. Participants could experience the diversity of Taiwan through these courses and activities.

In addition to providing students with formal Chinese courses to enhance their listening, speaking, reading, and writing proficiencies in Chinese and to understand the characteristics of Taiwan's traditional Chinese characters, this experiencing group further arranged multicultural courses, including Hakka indigo dyeing and pottery, allowing students to fully experience the traditional art of Taiwan's customs and culture and bring their works back to their country as souvenirs. During the students' stay in Taiwan, the organizer arranged for nine students from STUST to serve as international study companions to help the students quickly integrate into the learning environment and adapt to the local life, increasing cross-cultural communication and interaction learning opportunities for students from the two schools. More than enriching Taiwan’s in-depth exploration of cultural attractions and accompanying students to deeply experience the beauty of Taiwan’s culture, it was hoped that through diverse Chinese courses and cultural experiences, STUST could help the participating students feel and understand the beauty of Taiwan, thereby enhance the international visibility of STUST’s Chinese education.

Vice President Rui-shing Chang of STSUT welcomed all the participating students on behalf of the teachers and students at the closing ceremony. Vice President Chang said that after the STUST and Nihon Kogakuin University became sister schools and signed an agreement on student exchanges free of tuition and miscellaneous fees, teachers and students from the two universities have had frequent exchanges. Vice President Chang also encouraged all the students to learn more about Taiwanese culture, experience Taiwanese food, communicate with Taiwanese people, and feel the enthusiasm of Taiwanese people in addition to studying Chinese. In particular, as Tainan is an ancient capital of history and culture, its traditional architecture, art, and special cuisine are all worthy of everyone’s experience.
