In response to the policy of psychological leave of college students, STUST has implemented "psychological adjustment leave" since the 112th academic year. When students are troubled by emotional or psychological pressure, they should have enough time and space to relieve the stress for them to take a break. This will help create a friendly and healthy campus.

Shu-chen Cheng, Dean of STUST Student Affairs, said that the STUST has always paid attention to the mental health and emotional adjustment of students, so that students can have enough time to take leave and rest, keeping aware of their own emotions and stress states. If they feel that their mental condition is not good, they can take reasonable and appropriate measures, having a break or seeking help from people around them.
The "psychological adjustment leave" is based on caring rather than monitoring, so there is no limit to the number of days in principle. However, as long as you apply for three consecutive days or accumulate five days, STUST has activated its caring mechanism, with counselors to contact students to understand the conditions of their psychological adjustment. Depending on the needs of the students, they will be further referred to the counseling team, where professional psychologists and social workers will assist the students in their physical and mental adaptation. Since the university started in September, 85 students have taken 90 psychological adjustment leaves, with a total of 358 class hours. STUST adopts a trustworthy approach to students' psychological leave needs, so in principle no certificate is required to apply for psychological leave. This would keep students from being labeled and encourage students to have the courage to seek help from the school when they encounter mental distress. STUST will do its best to assist students in need, replace management with assistance, and allow students to learn and grow in a safe environment.
In addition, STUST has worked hard to create a friendly campus environment in a variety of ways over the years in order to help students relieve or adjust to stress and enhance positive emotions. It has also been committed to improving campus software and hardware facilities. Through the Ministry of Education's "College Improvement Plan on Basic Facilities and Overall Public Space," more than 20 million were spent to rebuild the "H2 Entrepreneurial Family Dream Dormitory" into a girls' dormitory for mutual learning, sharing and co-creation.
As Dean Shu-chen Cheng of Students Affairs pointed out, in order to alleviate the psychological pressure of students, help them adapt to campus life, and stimulate students' learning vitality, the "H2 Entrepreneurial Family Dream Dormitory" that STUST has renovated is not just a dormitory, but a dream-realization leading to entrepreneurship with innovative thinking. In terms of design, Dream Dormitory is close to the student restaurant, gym, student association office, rainy day stadium, and library. It can activate different types of entrepreneurial exchanges, strengthen the community life circle, allow students to actively expand their learning areas, develop diverse interests, and also relieve students' worries. One of the important directions of psychological pressure is to guide students to develop in an all-round way through positive learning.
Dean Shu-chen Cheng of Student Affairs further explained that STUST is committed to improving campus software and hardware facilities in various aspects. In addition to innovative space use, it has also added the psychological adjustment leave to create a friendly campus environment and is committed to providing students with a better university campus living environment. At the same time, it has always been the direction of STUST's efforts to continue building a campus atmosphere of innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship. Through the innovative campus space of mutual learning, resource sharing, and cooperative creation, the "Entrepreneurial Family Dream Dormitory" not only gives full play to women's delicate thinking, but also develops entrepreneurial projects from different perspectives through space sharing and teamwork, allowing more young students to practice the road to their dreams, and making the sense of accomplishment one of the best solutions for psychological adjustment.
