The STUST grandly held the 34th STUST Automobile and Motorcycle Exhibition today December 2 - 3. This automobile and motorcycle exhibition was hosted by STUST and co-organized by China Daily, Taiwan Automotive Electronics Association, Taiwan Electric Vehicle Development Association, and Tainan Automobile Repair Materials Business Association. The event invited General manager Ming-zheng Lin of Binhong Mercedes-Benz, Chairman Deng-chun Kang of Ruite Motor Company, President Ying-jie Shao of China Daily, and Chairman Ching-sen Peng of the Tainan Automobile Repair Materials Business Association, Deputy General Manager Deng-kai Zhong of Hongjiateng Power Technology Co., Ltd., Chairman Jing-zhou Tang of the Taiwan Automotive Electronics Association, and Chairman Jin-fa Huang of the National Association of STUST Alumni Association, Chairman Zong-lin Wu of the STUST Retired Personnel Mutual Aid and Care Association, and a number of distinguished guests.

It has been thirty-three years since STUST held the first Southern Taiwan Automobile and Locomotive Exhibition in 1978. During this period, with the joint efforts of successive presidents and approximately 200 teachers and students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Rolling Stock every year. It has been working for 33 years, attracting more than a hundred manufacturers to participate in the exhibition and nearly 100,000 people to visit. The organizer took the most popular "classic old cars" as the featured theme of this year's auto show, arranging five major exhibition areas in the campus exhibition hall according to the types of vehicles and their peripheral products, including Special Car Area, Imported Car Area, Domestic Car Area, Motorcycle Area, and Peripheral Area. The contents on display included classic cars from the 1990s, performance supercars, imported/domestic motorcycles, new electric vehicles, large heavy machinery, commercial trucks, modified products, instruments and equipment, as well as automobile and motorcycle related spare parts. Almost all the current automobile and motorcycle industries and related ones were gathered here, with more than 150 well-known manufacturers exhibited in the exhibition and more than 500 booths on display. Car lovers could choose the exhibition area they wanted to visit based on their personal preferences and needs. During the two days of the auto show, various manufacturers took advantage of the end of the year. Every now and then, a number of promotions were launched, so all car lovers could take advantage of this rare opportunity to purchase affordable vehicles or products.

The imported vehicles at this auto show included Mercedes-Benz, BMW, AUDI, OPEL, Volkswagen, CITROËN, PEUGEOT, SUBARU, INFINITI, KIA, and Tesla, while the domestically produced vehicles included FORD, HYUNDAI, HONDA, MITSUBISHI, NISSAN, and SUZUK. Commercial vehicles included ISUZU, HINO, Hyundai commercial vehicles, KIA commercial vehicles, and DFSK, and camper vehicles included IVECO, IN Studio, and No. 8 RV camper. In addition, motorcycle exhibitors include SYM, KYMCO, YAMAHA, PGO, Hongjiateng Motorcycle, Gogoro, Gwangyang Ionex, Hongjiateng Smart Tram, Super SOCO, eMOVING, WeiSheng, and other well-known manufacturers. The above-mentioned exhibitors took this opportunity to advertise and market their products. The latest cars and motorcycles were available for all the visitors to watch. In the Special Car Zone, classic cars from major manufacturers, such as Nissan Silvia S13, BMW Z1, Mercedes Benz G320, Honda S2000, BMW E39 M5, and Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T, were especially displayed this year. Legendary classics and contemporary cars from the past were on display. Supercars complemented each other at the same venue, recalling the beauty of the past and appreciating the best of contemporary craftsmanship. Those who like classic cars or are interested in supercars could go to the Special Car Zone to watch and evaluate the cars.

President Cheng-wen Wu of STUST said that this year's auto show was indeed a grand one, with many exhibitors and visitors. STUST mobilized all teachers and students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering to organize this event. As Taiwan's automobile manufacturing, sales and maintenance and other related industries will continue to develop, the Tainan City Government is also discussing with STUST to expand the auto show to the Sharon Convention and Exhibition Center next year, so that our education can be better and closer to the needs of the industry.
