  The team from the Department of International Business, STUST, won the championship of the 2023 Global Brand Planning and Design Competition—Taiwan Finals《    2024/1/3    

 

The Department of International Business, STUST, in cooperation with the brand "Haoshimeow" of Tainan local enterprise Shuishun Co., Ltd., formed a team—ESG Meow Meow Team—to participate in the 2023 Global Brand Planning Competition—Taiwan Finals, hosted by the Taiwan Society of Marketing Science Competition. Standing out from 395 teams, the team won the championship of the Taiwan finals and will represent Taiwan in the global finals to be held in Singapore in 2024.

This competition was divided into three stages of evaluation. In the first stage, Business Plan Evaluation, 48 teams in the finals were selected from 395 teams to participate in the group semi-finals. Six gold medal teams were selected to participate in the finals by means of briefing and group rematch; the top three Taiwanese teams were selected from the 6 teams. They will go to Nanyang Technological University in Singapore to participate in the 2024 global finals.

The ESG Meow Meow Team was jointly guided by Prof. Wei-zhen Yang from the Department of International Business and Prof. Jia-jun Lin from the Department of Visual Communication Design, STUST. Four students from the Department of International Business—including Ting-yu Ren, Zi-yi Tang, Yu-wen Tsu, and Kai-wen Mo—in cooperation with the brand "Haoshimeow" of Tainan local enterprise Shuishun Co., Ltd., in their brand marketing planning. The ESG Meow Meow Team combined the ESG business strategy implemented by the brand "Haoshimeow" with the marketing strategy, planning a 4R green production and marketing process. They hoped to make consumers have a good impression with "Haoshimeow," knowing that it is a brand of plastic household products. Not just plastic, good plastic can make the home a container, containing every bit of life and a positive image of environmental protection with a strong love for the earth.

In the face of global competition, it is an important part of international marketing to promote and disseminate local brands, effectively convey brand concepts and brand culture, and enhance a brand image. The Department of International Enterprise, STUST, actively cultivates international trade and marketing talents. In recent years, it has received funding assistance from the Ministry of Education’s intensive cultivation program and actively participated in various competitions with outstanding results. In order to train students with practical experience, the department has great cooperation with major manufacturers in many aspects—such as exhibition plans and brand innovation planning--and have been recognized by the manufacturers.

Prof. Wei-zhen Yang, Chair of the Department of International Business, STUST, said that the Department of International Business has won the global championship four times in the Singapore finals. In 2023, it once again showcased the Department of International Business, STUST, by planning the brand "Haoshimiao" marketing module. With a practical learning process and the results of "learning by doing", the ESG Meow Meow Team looks forward to once again bringing glory to the country on the international stage in 2024 and winning the highest honor for Taiwan's high-quality brands and for STUST as well.
