The "You Are Here" Graduation Exhibition of the College of Digital Design, STUST, presented a stunning design achievement transcending the limit of space and time    2024/4/10

The graduation exhibition "You Are Here" for the 113 graduating class of the College of Digital Design, STUST, had a grand opening on April 10 in the Sanlian Hall of STUST. The exhibition covered five departments, including the Department of Information Communication, Department of Visual Communication Design, Department of Creative Product Design, Department of Multimedia and Computer Entertainment Science, and Department of Popular Music Industry, with a total of 94 creative works on display. The theme of the exhibition, "You Are Here," indicated that in every path chosen in life, there is no absolute right or wrong. What matters is that one is right there and moving forward bravely. Inspired by this theme, the students combined the image of the college with the concept of a sticker machine to create an exhibition space where viewers could interact with the works and leave lasting memories. The works on display this time were the results of the students’ hard work over the past four years. The exhibition period was from April 10 to 12.

President Cheng-wen Wu of STUST said that this exhibition was the result of the students’ four- year studies in the College of Digital Design, STUST, and it was great that their excellent works were displayed in the form of tangible production. President-to-be Lai Ching-te proposed the national vision of "Healthy Taiwan," which is exactly the direction that STUST wants to develop, and it will be consistent with the direction of the country's future development. President Wu explained that the vision of "Healthy Taiwan" is not only about the continuous improvement in the medical system, but also about maintaining the health of the entire country's citizens from childhood to old age. This healthy state is not only the responsibility of the medical system, but also our entire culture. All walks of life in our society, including food, clothing, housing, transportation and education, can and should take care of the physical and mental health of all citizens. Therefore, the cultural aspect has become very important. Today, one can see that the content covered by the Digital Design Institute is almost closely related to the development of the entire society. The cultural industry is not only art and literature, but also closely related to all aspects of our lives. President Wu hopes the government will invest more in it the cultural industry. The opening performance of the Department of Popular Music Industry, from creation, performance to marketing, will be linked to career development after graduation in the future, which can create social needs in the cultural aspect. The works created by students from the Department of Multimedia and Computer Science are also great and impressive. President Wu hopes that this healthy entertainment industry can meet the needs of citizens in the future society and maintain physical and mental health while working hard. Therefore, we must not only promote balanced economic development, but also take care of the physical and mental health of the people. The results of the Digital Design Academy's studies will hopefully help balance the development of our society, culture, and economy in the future, contributing to the vision of "Healthy Taiwan." From the main visual of the Department of Visual Communication, one can see the things what students are worried about. The image of motorcycles is projected on a transparent plastic sheet to create the highlights, but the shadows there are overwhelming. It is heartbreaking that students do not have a safe transportation environment. He hopes that students’ worries will gradually alleviate in the future. Students from the Department of Creative Product Design developed a device that can be quickly provided to many people to keep their bodies clean during evacuation situations. Nowadays, young people are worried about environmental damage, frequent disasters, and global warming. This is because humans have overused the earth's resources and have caused unnecessary waste. When a disaster occurs, we cannot just provide good service measures and ask all the sectors of our society to think carefully about the concerns of young people. The animated film produced by the Department of Multimedia and Computer Science presents the plot step by step, and the production of the film requires a lot of time and effort. We encourage students to cooperate across fields, and hope that the energy of the College of Engineering can cooperate with the College of Digital Design. AI cannot replace creation; it should be able to help us do things more efficiently and create more excellent works with fewer people. President Wu hopes that students can gradually become familiar with cross-field cooperation, enhance their own value, create more value when serving the society in the future, and make their salary more affordable. He will also offer his recommendations to the government when he has the opportunity. He hopes that STUST can serve as a model and participate more in our school education and the connection between industry and school in the future.

The tour concert "YOUr,TH" held by graduates of the Department of Pop Music Industry is a farewell to the student days. Looking back on the process of confused pursuit of dreams in the past, one might have thought about giving up, but was unwilling to let all my efforts go to waste. He/She struggled, persevered, and finally became a person who used his own strength to realize his ideals. At the same time, he bid farewell to the once confused self and became an ambitious and confident person, opening a sparkling door for the next stage of life.
