STUST has always paid attention to student learning and hopes that students can focus on their studies during their studies. Among them, STUST provides students with stipends of more than NT$74 million, and it ranks second among national science and technology universities and first among private universities of science and technology. In addition to providing high scholarships every year to reduce the living burden of students during their studies at the school, STUST has also received subsidies from the Ministry of Education’s Higher Education Deepening Program for 6 consecutive years to improve the study assistance mechanism. STUST gathers donations from foundations, enterprises, alumni and other well-wishers, as well as subsidies from the Ministry of Education. It invests about NT$ 20 million every year to take care of economically disadvantaged and culturally disadvantaged students, which is supplemented by various learning guidance mechanisms, such as English ability improving programs, reading clubs, exam subsidies, certificate awards, special project production, career counseling activities, club development activities, remedial teaching courses, etc. STUST has always encouraged economically disadvantaged students to study instead of working, regain the focus of their studies, and allow students to reduce their workload. Despite their financial burden, students can learn professional skills at the same time. This assistance has so far provided financial assistance to more than 45,000 students.
