  STUST Graduation Exhibition delivered another good news, winning 6 major awards at the New Generation Design Exhibition    2024/6/6    

 

The 2024 New Generation Design Exhibition, jointly directed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Ministry of Education, has recently attracted more than 10,000 design-related students from 55 schools and 116 departments in Taiwan. A total of 4,974 works were registered for the competition. STUST won the Golden Pin Rookie Best Design Award of the Year, Golden Pin Rookie Circular Design Special Award, Golden Pin Rookie Special Award for Packaging Design, and many other awards. STUST Won 6 major awards this year, with positive reviews and continuous success for all the teachers and students of the school to share the glory.

【"Candied Rock Laboratory-Taiwan's Top Ten Geopark Souvenir Design"—a work by Yun-ru Wang, Chian-yu Yang, Shu-ya Zhang, and Wen-chi Zhong from the Department of Visual Communication, STUST—won the Golden Pin Award for Rookie Design in the Communication Design Category" and "Packaging Design Category】

This year saw the 43rd New Generation Design Exhibition awarding 61 Golden Pin Rookie Design Awards, 3 Golden Pin Rookie Special Awards for Circular Design, 3 Golden Pin Rookie Special Awards for Packaging Design, 58 Golden Pin Rookie Sponsorship Special Awards, and 9 Golden Pin Rookie of the Year Best Design Awards—the most prestigious ones. The teachers and students of STUST won 6 awards 6 of the most prestigious awards, becoming the biggest highlight of the whole event. STUST has always been the favorite university for enterprises. It has now cultivated many rising stars in the design industry and has won praise from all walks of life.

【"Truth of Weaving"—a work by Wen-yin Gu, Ying-shiu Li, Zhi-shuan Zheng, Shin-ru Huang, Ya-ru Ling, and Ting-yu Chen from the Department of Multimedia and Computer Science, STUST, won the Golden Pin Rookie of the Year Best Design Award—Digital Interactive Design Category Award.】

"Candied Rock Laboratory-Taiwan's Top Ten Geopark Souvenir Design"—a work by Yun-ru Wang, Chian-yu Yang, Shu-ya Chang, and Wen-chi Zhong from the Department of Visual Communication Design, bring forth a souvenir design with the characteristics of different geoparks based on the similarity in shape between candied fruits and rocks. The ingenious design of a rising object after opening the box creates the ingenious image of a raised plate. It won the Golden Pin Rookie Design Award in the Communication Design Category and Packaging Design Category, becoming the biggest winner of the year as well as the focus of everyone's attention.

【"Soul Organizer—Doll's Invitation" and "ComicStrip," two works from the Department of Multimedia and Computer Science, STUST, won the Golden Pin Newcomer Design Award—Digital Interactive Design Category.】

"Truth of Weaving"—a work by Wen-yin Gu, Ying-shiu Li, Zhi-shuan Zheng, Shin-ru Huang, Ya-ru Ling, and Ting-yu Chen from the Department of Multimedia and Computer Science, STUST, won the Golden Pin Rookie of the Year Best Design Award—Digital Interactive Design Category Award. This is a suspense reasoning game that presents comic narration in a 360-degree panoramic view, allowing players to play the role of freelance reporters and create a suspense reasoning game experience as they gradually restore the truth of the murder case. The content is infinitely creative and has won the favor of many judges. The Golden Pin Rookie Design Award—Digital Interactive Design Category was awarded to "Soul Organizer-Doll's Invitation" by Hong-rui Hou, Zhi-ying Chen, and Hong-ming Song from the Department of Multimedia and Computer Science. It was also given to Shiao-zhen Chou, Shin-yi Du, Wei-chian Chen, Jia-ying Li, You-rou Chen, and Shu-ting Guo from the Department of Multimedia and Computer Science for their work "ComicStrip."

【"Crayon," a work by Zi-shuan Yang, Yu-ning Chen, Cheng-rong Wu, and Yu-shin Yang from the Department of Visual Communication, STUST, won the Golden Pin Rookie Cycle Design Special Award.】

In addition, the "Crayon," created by Zi-shuan Yang, Yu-ning Chen, Cheng-rong Wu, and Yu-shin Yang from the Department of Visual Communication, won the favor of the judges. Their design aims to recycle obsolete cosmetics into safe and non-toxic low-color crayons, using them as teaching materials and drawing tools to help children with autism spectrum disorder develop their confidence and creativity through creation while creating recycling benefits. Eventually, their work won Golden Pin Rookie Recycling Design Special Award this year.
