The budding USR team of STUST's "Carbon Storage and Fishing: Cross-border Integration of Green Electric Energy Creation and Smart Breeding in the Ancient Capital Tuchengzai and Sustainable Net-Zero Development Plan" recently held "112-2" at the Orthodox Lu'ermen Mazu Temple. The "Final Course Achievements Sharing Session and Green Energy Implementation Interactive Workshop" encouraged teachers and students to communicate and interact with local partners to jointly build up a sense of social responsibility and practical energy, fully demonstrating the talent cultivation effectiveness of the project.

For the first time, this project uses students as the main body to hold a final course achievement sharing meeting. A total of 5 courses have sent students to give achievement reports and booth interactions. Guests at the meeting include Vice President Zhen-chian Wang of STUST, and Executive Director Yu-ping Zheng of the Center for Social Responsibility and Environmental Sustainability, Prof. Ke-mo Lin, Prof. Yu-sheng Lin, Prof. Fang-li Lin, and Prof. Yu-jun Huang from the carbon storage and fishery team, General Manager Rong-hong Yan of Taijiang Biotechnology, Manager Mei-ru Chen of Mingshiang Technology, and farmer representatives Chong-shiu Huang and Liang-cheng Guo, through stakeholders in various fields. The connection between people demonstrates the effectiveness of the project in taking local aquaculture fisheries as the core issue and cultivating talents as an action strategy. In addition to allowing students to demonstrate their learning results, it also promotes face-to-face exchanges between academia and industry.

Students in the "Circuit Science (2)" course had an idea based on the "fishing" work of fish farmers to clean the intestines of fish, ultimately creating a multi-functional hull platform. "TRIZ Creative Theory and Application" was shared by international students, taught in English under the guidance of design thinking, about how to analyze the problems encountered by fish farms. Students in the course "Application of Deep Learning Methods in Solar Photovoltaic Technology" use machine learning technology to analyze the benefits of renewable energy in the field. In "Energy Implementation and Grid Application" teaches how to establish green energy grids and implements ideas for field issues. "Green Power Sustainable Net-Zero Cross-Domain Integration Practice" uses a dual-teacher teaching model across the fields of mechanical engineering and humanities, with inter-school exchanges to allow students to understand social participation better, and then improve their own green energy practice plan.

In order to promote local recognition of sustainable actions, this project held a green energy practical workshop in the morning of the same day, using student teams to guide people to assemble wind turbines. Another USR project "Green and Silver Co-Creation" was also invited. The "Local Wisdom, Freedom and Eternal Power" team led the public to draw Zentangle wind machine postcards. The activities promoted the interaction between the team and local people and enhanced the public's understanding of green energy knowledge, allowing students to demonstrate their accumulated leadership and implementation abilities.

Prof. You-ren Chen, Host of the Carbon Storage and Fishing Project, shared that during the course results presentation, local farmers used their own farming experience to put forward practical difficulties that students may encounter in their projects, and also help students develop a practical spirit. All of the students had the courage to try to answer the questions and were able to clearly demonstrate the positive impact of USR courses on their professional knowledge learning. The on-site exchanges were lively and successfully promoted the close connection between academia and industry. In the future, the team will continue to integrate various stakeholders, promote multi-party exchanges with real issues, and devote to talent cultivation, so that students and all walks of life can grow together and create significant social values.

Zhen-chian Wang, Vice President and Dean of the College of Engineering, said that the Carbon Storage and Fishing USR project has successfully introduced local aquaculture issues into the curriculum. Students discovered problems through actual visits and then presented the project with physical works, giving full play to their technical expertise. They fully showed the abundant practical energy of STUST. The team also actively uses its strength in the field of green energy to connect the path of global energy transformation. Through practical programs such as courses and workshops, the team not only cultivates students' problem-solving skills and social responsibility, but also lays a solid foundation for future careers.
