Hong-ming Huang, a fifth-year junior high school student from the Department of Electrical Engineering of STUST, recently formed the "Seng-hee-yi-me eel pasta" team with Zheng-rong Jiang, a third-year student from Tainan Dawan High School, and Shan-shun Chen, a third-year student from Xinhua High School of Engineering. They won the world championship of High School Category in the 2024 RoBoRAVE Australian World Championship. They named their team after local delicacies in Tainan and participated in the AlpineBot hill-climbing robot project. They stood out in the fierce competition, demonstrating excellent technology and teamwork spirit and bringing glory to Taiwan and Tainan.

Hong-ming Huang, a student from the Department of Electrical Engineering at STUST, said that he has had a strong interest in robot competitions since he was a child, and began to participate in various robot-related competitions, learning from them and accumulating experience and also winning various domestic awards. Over the past two years, he has begun to participate in large-scale international competitions and applied the knowledge he had learned in school to practice. Last year, he finished sixth in the 2023 ROBORAVE Japan World Championship, and this year he won a world championship in the ROBORAVE Australia World Championship.

Prof. Guan-jie Huang said that Hong-ming Huang is very diligent in learning and has a high degree of enthusiasm and focus on robotics technology. Not only did he perform well in the classroom, especially in programming language-related courses, , he but also actively participated in various competitions and accumulated rich practical experience. It was not easy for him to stand out in an international competition and bring glory to the school and Taiwan.
