The Department of International Business, STUST, cooperated with Shuishun Co., Ltd. to form a team bearing the brand "Haoshi Miao"—ESG Miao Miao Team. Recently, they represented Taiwan at the Marketing Institute of Singapore (MIS) organized by the Global Chinese Marketing Federation (GCMF) in Singapore. The finals of the 2024 Global Brand Planning Competition, organized by GCMF, were divided into two phrases. In the first phrase, the finals were held at MIS on July 20, and the top four were selected to enter the finals. The second phrase was held at the National Management University of Singapore on July 21 for the championship. The ESG Miao Miao Team of the Department of International Business, STUST, received unanimous praise from the audience for its superior strategic analysis as well as its lively, creative presentation. It won the championship of the Singapore Finals of the 2024 Global Brand Planning Competition with overwhelming strength.

The ESG Miao Miao Team was jointly directed by Prof. Wei-zhen Yang from the Department of International Business and Prof. Jia-jun Lin from the Department of Visual Communication Design. The team was formed by five students from the Master Class of Global Business Management, including Yi-ting Chen, Ting-yu Ren, Zi-yi Tang, Yu-wen Shu, and Jia-shuan Su. They worked with Shuishun Co., Ltd., a local enterprise in Tainan, featuring a brand marketing plan of the brand "Haosh-Miao." The ESG Miao Miao Team analyzed the key capabilities of the brand for "Haoshi Miao" through the analysis of the eight key capabilities of brand management, conducted a questionnaire survey on the consumers of "Haoshi Miao," and planned "ESG management" for "Haoshi Miao" Strategy" and "Marketing Plan to Enhance Brand Awareness" to create a 4R green production and marketing process.

The team co-directed by Wei-zhen Yang, Associate Professor of the Department of International Business, and Jia-jun Lin, Associate professor of the Department of Visual Communication Design of STUST, who have represented Taiwan in the Singapore finals for the seven times and achieved excellent results in the Global Brand Planning Competition every year. As team member Ting-yu Ren said, participating teams in the Global Brand Planning Competition must use the product brand or service brand of a real company as the planning object. Each participating team acts as a brand consultant, studying the business model of the company based on its current brand status and developing a brand planning document to improve the company's brand image. At the same time, on-site briefings, presentations and impromptu defenses are quite difficult for the competitors, and the preparation process is very arduous. After planning, communication, implementation and other processes, the results can finally be displayed in the arena of international competition, competing and learning with elite teams from various countries. Thanks to Shuishun Co., Ltd. for providing various resources and also to the teachers for their careful guidance, the team was allowed to learn planning methods and marketing knowledge through writing planning books and briefing questions and answers. At the same time, the revolutionary emotions among the team members made it the best memory of their academic career.

The Department of International Business, STUST, has actively cultivated international trade and marketing talents for years. In 2024, the department cooperated with "Haoshi Miao" to use the ESG business strategy brand marketing module and won the global championship in the Singapore finals for the fifth time. The ESG Meow Team demonstrates the effectiveness of the Department of International Business, STUST, in its practical learning and teaching and the practice of "learning by doing."
