The College of Business and Management, STUST, recently held a grand orientation event on the freshman training day of the 113th academic year, and the eight departments of the college jointly welcomed the new students. This event not only helped freshmen quickly get integrated into university life, but also arranged a series of cross-cultural exchange programs, allowing freshmen to feel the charm of multiculturalism amidst laughter and applause and understand campus resources and directions for their future study.

In order to impress the new students, a carefully planned cultural performance was especially arranged for the opening of the orientation event. The College of Business and Management invited foreign students from India, Indonesia and Vietnam to perform traditional songs and folk dances from their countries. These foreign students showed the cultural characteristics of their respective countries, which made the freshmen for the first time felt quite fascinated by the lively atmosphere of campus life. Through this cross-cultural exchange, students could experience the atmosphere of an international learning environment on their first day at university.

Ren-peng Huang, Dean of the College of Business and Management, delivered a speech at the event. He not only introduced the resources closely related to freshmen in university life, but also pointed out how to make good use of the various support systems provided by the college to enhance learning results. Dean Huang shared the hottest artificial intelligence topic nowadays, led students to grasp the trends of the times, and encouraged them to participate in more related activities and discussions during their studies to enhance their competitiveness. Dean Huang emphasized that in the face of the rapidly changing technological and industrial environment, having AI-related knowledge will become an important advantage in the future workplace.

Ling-mei Ke, Deputy Dean of the College of Business and Management, then introduced the achievements of the College of Business and Management in promoting internationalization. She mentioned that the College of Business and Management has always attached great importance to cultivating international perspectives and has established close cooperative relationships with a number of international partners to provide students with diverse channels for international exchanges. Whether it is a short-term study tour, an international internship, or an exchange studies abroad, the college always provides students with a wealth of resources to expand the horizon of their international experience and knowledge. Deputy Dean Ke emphasized that in the future, university life will not be limited to classroom learning and that international experience will be a valuable asset in a student’s career, laying a solid foundation for their career development.

During the event, seniors from the student union and various departments’ societies were also arranged to introduce the society’s activities and participation opportunities to the new students. The seniors led the new students to learn about society organizations, student clubs, and extracurricular activities in a passionate way. Through humorous and friendly introductions, the new students could feel the diversity and richness of campus life. In addition, the event also held an interesting campus stamp collection activity. The freshmen were encouraged to go to major departments to get stamps, so as to quickly familiarize themselves with the campus environment. After collecting enough stamps, the freshmen could go to the newly designed office of the College of Business and Management to redeem small gifts carefully prepared by the college.
This orientation event also fully considered the needs and expectations of the new students. It not only introduced various information about campus life, but also thoughtfully prepared "Holy Dim Sum" biscuits. This biscuit, limited to Tainan historical sites, carried the school's expectations for the new students, with best wishes that students would be able to be successful in their studies in the next four years.
De-guang Chou, Acting President of STUST, said that the success of this orientation event fully demonstrated the school's importance and care for new students.
