In order to take care of the local elders and implement the integration of youth and elderly, STUST Youth and Elderly Co-creation USR Project and Fubon Life CSR, which has long attached importance to elderly care services, once again joined hands with the Bureau of Social Affairs of Tainan City Government. They launched a joint venture in Tainan City at the end of the year. In the Nanmay Neighborhood Activity Center of Central-West District, they held the 2024 “Warm Winter Seniors Gathering, Youth-Elderly Christmas Fun Time" activity, bringing a warm Christmas to the elders.

The event invited Martin Hurkens, who has won the Dutch Good Voice Championship, to the activity to sing for the elders with his natural voice, allowing the elders to feel the warmth and happiness in the music. Vice Mayor Ching-hui Chao of Tainan City, Director Yu-tsong Lu of the Bureau of Social Affairs, Division Manager Ming-shian Zheng of Fubon Life Insurance, Vice President De-guang Chou of STUST, and many other distinguished guests also attended the event to express their care for the elderly.

Rich and diverse activities make the elders feel warm:  

In addition to star-studded music performances, the organizers also prepared a number of exciting activities for the elders to make this winter full of warmth.

Heart-warming blessing bags, full of sincerity:Carefully prepared Christmas blessing bags were given to disadvantaged elders and those living alone on site, containing practical items such as cereals, warm packs, thermos bottles, and many other presents, so that the elders could feel the care of the society.

Hands-on, lots of fun:Teachers and students from the Department of Senior Welfare and Service, STUST, designed a number of interactive hand-made activities, allowing the elders to enjoy the fun of creation while promoting physical and mental health during the hands-on processes.

Relax their bodies and minds: Pingtung County Traditional Massage and Orthopedics Professional Union provided professional massage services, allowing the elders to relax their body and mind and enjoy a moment of tranquility.

Youth and elderly were in harmony as music conveyed emotions:The Kongling Drum Community, composed of elders from the Jinhua, Kunsun, and Wenling communities and students from STUST, presented a wonderful musical performance, showing the vitality and enthusiasm of the youth and elder generations.

Feast around the fire for a warm reunion: The event invited 150 elders to gather, enjoy a sumptuous meal around the fire, and feel the warmth of home in a warm atmosphere.

Cooperation between industry, government, and academia created an age-friendly city. 

This event is the best example of industry-government-academic cooperation. STUST, Fubon Life Insurance, and the Tainan City Government worked together to create a warm and joyful event for the elderly. Through such cooperation, they hope to jointly create a more friendly society for the elderly, so that every elderly person can enjoy a happy old age.

Vice Mayor Ching-hui Zhao of Tainan City thanked STUST and Fubon Life for their efforts, saying that the city government would continue to promote various age-friendly policies so that the elderly could enjoy their retirement years. Fubon Life Insurance Office Manager Ming-shian Zheng emphasized that the company had long been concerned about the issue of aging and hopes that through activities like this, more people would care about the elderly and create an age-friendly society.

In the face of the advent of a super-aged society, through the Youth=Elderly Co-Creation USR Project, the resources of various departments on the school have been integrated to demonstrate the teaching characteristics of the welfare of the elderly and combine it with diverse CSR resources. Among them, Fubon Life Insurance has been deeply involved in the elderly community for many years. Through the creative thinking of teachers and students, the cold winter warmth was integrated into different themes, continuing to bring social care to the elderly in the community and allowing the elderly to experience different experiences in a variety of ways. In the festive atmosphere, it was hoped that the rich joy of life could enhance the healthy mental capacity of the elderly to live an active life.
