Since 2017, STUST has actively participated in the USR program, using pragmatic communication to establish long-term trusting partnerships with local communities. This phase of the project continues to focus on “local care,” “sustainable environment,” “cultural sustainability,” and “health promotion and food safety,” further reinforcing the positive role of universities as local think tanks. The sustainable development feature, “Youth and Elderly Co-creates Local Smart Freedom and Eternal Power,” is committed to smart and precise healthcare by collaborating with industry, government, academia, and local partners. It integrates elderly welfare expertise with technological applications to build a model of a healthy and sustainable community for the elderly.

It collaborates with local residents to operate a neighborhood museum, deepening local cultural significance and enhancing the economic model of cultural sustainability. Through these two in-depth projects, STUST hopes that teachers and students will collaborate with public departments and community partners to create a unique and influential model for local sustainable development.
