  Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology and National Keelung Commercial & Industrial Vocational Senior High School Signed MOU, Forming A Strong Alliance to Promote AI Transformation in Vocational Education and Cultivate Interdisciplinary and Innovative Talent    2025/8/29    

 

To deepen vocational education collaboration between the north and south and promote the vertical integration of AI and technology, STUST and National Keelung Commercial & Industrial Vocational Senior High School signed a memorandum of understanding on August 28. This partnership not only established a long-term collaboration but also tightly integrates STUST’s advantages in AI education with the outstanding achievements of National Keelung Commercial & Industrial Vocational Senior High School in innovative research and development. Together, they will inject new momentum into the AI transformation of Taiwan's vocational education and jointly cultivate a new generation of talent with practical skills and international competitiveness.

A Strong Alliance: STUST Leads in AI, National Keelung Commercial & Industrial Vocational Senior High School Owns World Silver Medal

STUST, with the core philosophy of “AI Sets Sail, STUST Leads the Way,” has long been dedicated to practical AI education and has made its self-developed “AI Maker Platform” available to high schools. National Keelung Commercial & Industrial Vocational Senior High School has strength that is also not to be underestimated. The school recently won a silver medal at the 2025 IEYI World Young Inventors Exhibition for its “Multi-functional Smart Medicine Box,” making it the only public senior high school to win an award at this year's competition. The inspiration for this invention came from a concern for family health, blending avionics and business management across disciplines. This showcased the high school’s top-tier innovation, R&D, and international competitiveness, while embodying the warmth and excellence of vocational education. This strategic alliance between the two schools can be described as a powerful union between vocational education institutions in the north and south.

跨階段整合:Cross-Level Integration: An AI Education Chain from High School to University

The signing of this strategic alliance symbolizes the two schools' shared commitment to implementing the vertical integration of vocational education and resource sharing. STUST will leverage its deep foundation in AI, information technology, and innovative teaching to combine with the practical experience of National Keelung Commercial & Industrial Vocational Senior High School in vocational education, launching multi-level collaborations. These include the use of the AI Maker Platform, industry-academia partnerships, and collaborative teaching mechanisms and resource sharing to enhance the effectiveness of “learning-by-doing.” This will give the high school’s students early exposure to AI applications, strengthening their future competitiveness through hands-on and interactive learning, realizing the educational philosophy of “practice and innovation.”

Excellence in School Management Has Been Constantly Recognized, Establishing a Leading Position in Vocational Education

STUST's excellence in school management is not only highly appreciated by students but also recognized by professionals from all sectors. In the 2025 Global Vision Magazine Survey of Universities Most Loved by Enterprises, STUST ranked first among private universities of science and technology nationwide. It also ranked first among private universities of science and technology in the south in the “Most Loved by Financial Industry” and “Most Loved Interns” categories. Furthermore, the 2025 Cheers Magazine “Most Loved by Enterprises” Survey also recognized STUST as the top private university of science and technology in the south. According to the 2025 104 Job Bank “University Brand Power” report, STUST was the only university of science and technology in the “Mass Communication” category, and it also ranked first among private universities of science and technology nationwide in the “Engineering” and “Recreation and Sports” categories. The College of Engineering is strong and has successfully passed the 2025 IEET 4th cycle engineering accreditation. The College of Business and Management is even more internationally competitive, having passed the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) international business school accreditation in 2017 and again in 2022, becoming the only private university of science and technology in the country to be AACSB accredited. This recognition from the industry, media, and international professional organizations serves as the best proof of STUST's excellence in school management and its ability to cultivate diverse talent.

Mutual Encouragement between Presidents: Outlining a New Blueprint for Vocational Education in the AI Era

President Nen-Fu Huang of STUST stated that the value of vocational education lies in practical skills and innovation, and AI is the most important application tool of the current era. STUST hopes to use this strategic alliance to make STUST's teaching experience and AI Maker Platform available to teachers and students at National Keelung Commercial & Industrial Vocational Senior High School, promoting the cultivation of AI literacy from the high school level to prepare students for future studies and employment, and together, outline a new blueprint for vocational education in the AI era.”

Principal Tzy-Jiann Lin stated that in the wave of the AI era, education must plan ahead. This strategic alliance with STUST is a cross-stage educational connection. By leveraging STUST's forward-looking AI framework and combining it with the cross-disciplinary innovation capabilities of National Keelung Commercial & Industrial Vocational Senior High School, STUST believes that it can provide students with a better learning path and jointly cultivate a new generation of vocational talent with technological literacy and a humanistic touch. Faculty members of National Keelung Commercial & Industrial Vocational Senior High School who attended the event included Dean of Academic Affairs Cheng-Hung Pan, Dean of Student Affairs Wen-Chi Hu, Dean of Practical Affairs Chung-Ming Huang, Library Director Hsiao-Hua Cheng, and Internship Group Leader Wei-Li Hsu. They all witnessed this historic moment of collaboration between the two schools.

It is particularly noteworthy that the successful formation of this alliance was made possible by the selfless dedication to education of Ms. Su-Chuan Mo, Chairwoman of the Deaf & Mute Association of the Republic of China and an outstanding alumna of STUST. She has long provided a solid foundation for this collaboration. Ms. Mo specially prepared exquisite snacks handmade by students from the association as gifts for the faculty members, demonstrating her passionate support and commitment to every strategic alliance signing. The faculty members from both schools happily posed for a photo, sharing this heartwarming moment and hoping for even closer future collaboration.
