Global Vision Magazine recently released its 2025 Taiwan Best University Rankings. Now in its tenth year, the evaluation covers six major categories and 69 detailed indicators, offering a comprehensive review of Taiwan’s higher education landscape. STUST continues its upward trajectory in many key evaluation areas, distinguished by its outstanding academic performance and diversified development. The university has secured multiple first-place rankings among private universities of science and technology, reaffirming its leadership in the field of technical and vocational education and once again demonstrating its strength and remarkable achievements in higher education.

The capabilities of STUST in university governance and operation have long earned recognition from various sectors, including tech industry. In the 2025 Global Vision survey on the most popular university students among employers, STUST not only ranked first among all private universities of science and technology nationwide but also claimed the 25th position in the national Top 50 list. It holds a firm lead among private polytechnic universities. In detailed evaluations, such as those measuring preference among financial institutions and favorability of interns among enterprises, STUST consistently ranks first among private science and technology universities in southern Taiwan, fully illustrating its excellence and leading status in higher education.

According to the latest Global Vision Magazine 2025 rankings, STUST has shown remarkable progress across several indicators: in the Private University List, it climbed from 23rd in 2024 to 22nd in 2025—an improvement of one place—showing continued growth in overall competitiveness. In the Polytechnic College Ranking, STUST advanced from 14th to 10th nationwide, a leap of four places and an outstanding achievement. It now ranks as the third highest among private universities of science and technology and holds the top spot in southern Taiwan. In the Humanities and Social Sciences University Ranking, the university progressed from 19th to 14th nationwide—a notable five-place improvement—securing its position as the top university of science and technology in the country and demonstrating its success in fostering interdisciplinary and humanities education.

Moreover, in the Southern Taiwan University Ranking, STUST made a remarkable jump from 13th to 8th nationwide, climbing five places and firmly retaining its title as the top private university of science and technology in southern Taiwan. It also ranked 17th nationwide in the Medium and Large University List, again topping its category in the south. In the Medium and High Funding University List, it ranked 20th in the country and earned the first-place spot among private science and technology universities, reflecting its efficient use of resources and exemplary administrative performance. Notably, in terms of Social Reputation, STUST ranked 24th nationally and was again the highest-ranking university of science and technology in southern Taiwan.

This comprehensive evaluation of university affairs covered four core areas: school governance and development strategy, assurance and enhancement of teaching quality, assurance and improvement of student learning outcomes, and self-driven improvement and progress. STUST demonstrated excellence across all indicators, including a clear vision for institutional development, an efficient decision-making framework, a dedicated and professional teaching and counseling team, outstanding student performance in learning and practice, and the school’s consistent efforts toward introspection and educational advancement.

President Nen-Fu Huang emphasized that STUST’s strong performance in the Global Vision Magazine rankings represents the highest recognition of the joint efforts and pursuit of excellence by all faculty, staff, and students. A Testament to Excellence: International Recognition, Top Rankings, and Industry Preference for STUST Graduates

The university’s academic excellence has gained both domestic and international recognition. When CEO Jensen Huang of Nvidia delivered a speech in Taiwan, the STUST emblem was prominently displayed on the official event backdrop—a gesture viewed as symbolic of “Nvidia’s choice,” and a testament to the university’s Global Vision and commitment to AI development. Domestically, Cheers magazine’s 2025 Corporate Favorite College Students Survey once again placed STUST as the top private university of science and technology in southern Taiwan. In terms of academic reputation, the 2025 University Brand Power report by 104 Job Bank revealed that STUST was the only university of science and technology in the country to be included in the Mass Communication Academic Group list. It also ranked first among private universities of science and technology in both the Engineering and Recreation and Sports academic group rankings. Furthermore, STUST continues to receive international accreditation: the College of Engineering successfully completed its fourth IEET engineering certification in 2025, while the College of Business and Administration—certified by AACSB since 2017—passed the Continuous Improvement Review again in 2022. This distinction makes STUST the only private university of science and technology in Taiwan to have achieved AACSB accreditation.
